Responsibilities:YOUR ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
As part of our dynamic engineering development team, you will manage both individual contributors and managers, collaborate across departments and within the team. This role will manage the optimization of engineering processes, procedures, and tools, addressing opportunities to improve processes and practices within engineering and across functions to assure successful program execution, engineering effectiveness and efficiency, and development speed. The candidate will be responsible for defining Engineering’s overall long- and short-term functional goals to support the site’s strategic aims. This will involve:
- Establish strategic vision and lead IC Engineering functional managers and Engineers for the development semiconductor products and technology. Work alongside Divisional Engineering leaders to establish the technical direction of Frontgrade’s products, technology, and services to maximize value for our customers.
- Apply strong engineering and programmatic judgment to drive effective risk and opportunity management. Work collaboratively with manufacturing engineering to assure that DFx principles are consistently applied to all IC development programs.
- Manage detailed IC Engineering resource planning and coordination of IC Engineering schedules across IC Engineering functions and with other functions such as Program Management, Operations, Supply Chain, and Business Development in order to responsively and effectively deliver Engineering requirements for IC development programs, research and development activities, bids and proposals, and production support; adjusting for evolving priorities and resolving resource conflicts as needed.
- Drive improvements in IC Engineering performance metrics, effective and consistent application of Life Cycle Management (LCM) across IC development programs, and manage IC Engineering Key Performance Indicator (KPI) data collection and reporting.
- Develop and support teams that make suggestions, take initiative and actively implement improvements.
- Plans critical long range technological requirements to enhance Company objectives or meet customer needs. Independently identifies and leads the closure of complex problems associated with the success of current and critical long-range objectives. Leads and coordinates the activities of key technical personnel and other employees as required.
- Foster new ideas and innovation by championing new technology concepts, recommend, plan, lead, review, identify risks and evaluate R&D and technological applications programs. Advise senior management on developments, trends or weaknesses in semiconductor technology.
- Implement tools and processes and define best-fit updates to complement Frontgrade’s New Product Introduction (NPI) process. Evolve design processes to utilize the most effective new techniques, assuring methodologies streamline design and drive DTUPC reductions to be responsive to market needs.

Minimum Requirements:
- Required to obtain and maintain security clearance, which requires USA Citizenship.
- This position requires access to technology, materials, software or hardware that is controlled by either ITAR or EAR U.S. export laws. As a condition to this job offer, in order to be employed in this position, you must be able to obtain an U.S. Government export license(s), as required by law.
- Twelve (12) years of related semiconductor design experience in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering, including leading multi-disciplinary development teams in a high-tech manufacturing company. Ten (10) years of experience will be accepted if candidate has obtained a Master of Science degree.
- Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering
- Proven ability to lead progressive changes with strong change agent, mentoring, and personnel development skills
- Well-developed business acumen and ability to balance a strategic focus and digging into the details when necessary; ability to anticipate needs of the business based on current technology and market trends and information and develop plans to react accordingly.
- Lead and drive high performance across engineering programs with a strong focus on program execution and rigor, customer satisfaction, and speed to market; ability to lead with vision and to be decisive, influential and able to gain commitment to action.
- Demonstrated ability to apply sound technical and programmatic judgment, make impactful decisions in complex and ambiguous situations, often with incomplete data; ability to strongly mediate and develop alternate approaches when there are diverse and conflicting needs in order to achieve positive outcomes.
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills; ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations; ability to review and compare data to identify inconsistencies and determine priorities.
- Ability to maintain a proactive and positive approach to resolve conflict and/or business issues.
- Must demonstrate flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities and assignments; ability to prioritize tasks and meet schedules/deadlines across a diverse product portfolio; ability to simultaneously initiate, prioritize and coordinate multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Possess a strong process orientation and a track record of reducing costs, improving productivity, and streamlining work in order to achieve significant financial improvements.
- Ability to communicate comfortably and effectively including ability to present findings in formal and in ad-hoc situations and answer resulting questions from management.
- Robust sense of teamwork and collaboration, particularly cross-functionally. Emphasis on the ability of building and maintain strategic working relationships.
- Strong customer focus and demonstrated ability to build and manage relationships. Ability to effectively communicate at all levels within the customer community.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master of Science degree
- Designing for military environmental compliance (Electrical Input Power, Thermal Limits, Mechanical Shock and Vibration)
Salary:
$193,216-$250,929 annually. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well business results. Applicable pay within the posted range may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, geographical location, job function of the position, education, and experience of the successful candidate.
