About the Job
The Director of IT is responsible for overseeing the organization’s technology strategy and infrastructure, ensuring the integrity and security of all technology systems. This role involves developing IT strategies aligned with organizational goals, managing the IT team, including the Help Desk and fostering a collaborative environment to meet the technology needs of all departments. The IT Director will also lead cybersecurity initiatives, manage budgets, and establish policies that enhance operational efficiency.

- Demonstrate and model the organization’s core values in all activities.
- Hire, train, supervise, and mentor the IT team, conducting performance evaluations and managing development.
- Strategic Planning & Implementation:
- Develop and implement IT strategies aligned with organizational goals.
- Analyze business requirements across departments to determine technology needs.
- Evaluate and implement new technologies to improve efficiency and productivity.
- Current knowledge of industry trends, technology standards, and emerging technologies.
- Project Management:
- Proactively manage and communicate the status of various IT projects and initiatives to key stakeholders.
- Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and develop metrics to assess technology performance.
- Help Desk Management:
- Oversee the IT Help Desk to ensure effective support and resolution of issues.
- Budget & Procurement:
- Manage the technology operating budget, develop financial forecasts, and maintain asset management systems.
- Handle procurement and tracking of all IT equipment and technology licenses.
- Security & Risk Management:
- Proficiency in current cybersecurity best practices.
- Develop cybersecurity strategies to eliminate security risks and vulnerabilities.
- Establish an information security plan to protect data confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
- Develop and implement business continuity and disaster recovery plans, and conduct IT security audits.
- Understanding of computer systems, networks, and infrastructure.
- Relationship Management:
- Partner with departments to build confidence in technology systems and functions.
- Build and maintain relationships with external IT developers, vendors, and service providers.
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- 10-15years of experience in IT management or a related field.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, CISSP, ITIL) are a plus.
