Position Information:
NWHSU is seeking a Director of Learning Transformation to enhance the university's curriculum, instruction, and assessment design across delivery methods, with a particular focus on digital learning design and delivery.This leader will oversee their own team while working with expert faculty and staff across departments to develop learning and assessment strategies focused on person-centered health profession education. This role will also help establish consistent quality standards to measure and improve course design, user experience, and learning across programs.
Work Location:Bloomington, MN with flexibility to work up to 3 days per week remotely; must live local and be able to come to campus as needed.
Duties:
- Lead changes in curriculum, instruction, and assessment to enhance the university's value proposition, strategic direction, and financial sustainability.
- Develop and coordinate key initiatives and projects to achieve desired outcomes, accounting for budget, stakeholders, and deliverables.
- Manage change management efforts and analyze improvement processes to ensure long-term success.
- Ensure understanding and compliance with external quality requirements for distance learning, including regulations from federal and state agencies, accreditors, and licensing boards.
- Oversee digital learning staff, department goals/goal setting, and financial management.
- Actively participate in department, division, and university activities.
- Strategically contribute to the Office of Faculty Development focused on faculty training, orientation, and development for teaching and learning in collaboration with internal and external partners.
What you need to have?
- Masters Degree in Instructional/Curriculum Design, Instructional Technology, related field, or significant related experience required.
- Doctoral Degree, preferred.
- Prior experience in higher education, required
- 7 years' experience in online curriculum, instructional and assessment design, or related field.
Other Specialized Knowledge/Skills:
- Demonstrated familiarity with learning management systems (particularly Canvas), and adult learning theories.
- Track record of leading and managing a variety of projects and presentations in higher education at multiple levels.
- Strong problem-solving, interpersonal, and communication skills to ensure stakeholder understanding and transparency in curriculum design and development.
- Ability to provide instructional, curriculum, and assessment design consulting services to faculty.
