About the Job
Skilled Nursing Facility in Buffalo New Yorkis actively seeking to hire a full time Director of Maintenance (DM). The DM is responsible in overseeing the upkeep of our facilities to assure that the facility meets current federal, state and local standards for the safety, cleanliness and the comfort of our clients. The successful candidate with demonstrate a solid knowledge of building maintenance, repairs, refurbishments, plumbing, carpentry, cleaning, and supervising staff.
Duties/Responsibilities:
· Develop and implement preventative maintenance procedures.
- Manage heating and plumbing systems to guarantee functionality.
- Plan and schedule repairs.
- Conduct periodic quality checks on equipment and systems to ensure everything is up to standard.
- Maintain all inventory and equipment, and ensure proper storage
- Perform general maintenance tasks including landscaping, painting, and carpentry.
- Clean and assist with upkeep of facility.
- Upkeep of grounds, including lawn care and snow ice removal.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
· Conduct safety inspections as scheduled
Qualifications:
- Minimum 18 yrs. age required, HS diploma or equivalent preferred.
- 2 year related work experience required in a long term skill nursing or hospital setting.
- Basic knowledge of tools and their use.
- Basic knowledge of plumbing, carpentry and painting skills.
- Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record required.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions required.
Physical Requirements:
· Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
· Must be physically able to climb ladders, bend and crawl into awkward spaces.
· Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
