MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design and execute a comprehensive preventive maintenance strategy tailored to our specific needs in injection molding and extrusion, aiming to minimize downtime and lengthen the lifespan of our equipment.
- Analyze maintenance records and data to refine strategies, enhance equipment schedules, and pinpoint opportunities for improvement.
- Work in concert with other departments to achieve a streamlined operation, quality output, and efficient tooling management.
- Steer mold and die maintenance, ensuring optimal utilization, efficiency, and longevity of these critical tools.
- Manage all facets of equipment maintenance, including planning, budget allocation, and overseeing the work of technicians, mechanics, and planners.
- Collaborate with engineering to ensure the design and maintenance of molds and dies to align with production demands and standards.
- Remain abreast of, recommend, and incorporate cutting-edge maintenance technology and methodologies to advance our capabilities.
- Administer the tooling budget, managing procurement, maintenance, and replacement to ensure operational efficiency.
- Develop and maintain an inventory management system for tracking and controlling mold and die assets.
- Oversee capital projects, prepare budget and variance reports, and provide team training on processes and protocols.
- Ensure the advanced training of technicians in the diagnosis and repair of specific machinery related to injection molding and extrusion.
- Uphold stringent safety standards specific to our operational environment, safeguarding our team and processes.
- Establish and pursue strategic objectives for maintenance and tooling in harmony with broader production and quality aims.
- Budget management with an eye on both capital expenditures and operational costs in tooling and equipment.
- Guide staff management, including hiring, development, performance evaluation, and leading disciplinary actions as needed.
- Cultivate a workplace ethos of safety, responsibility, ongoing improvement, and proactive maintenance.
- Initiate cost-saving strategies to fine-tune maintenance and tooling functionalities.
- Present regular reports on departmental outcomes, highlighting critical performance metrics to the executive team.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Holds a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field (preferred).
- Bring at least 10 years of leadership experience within the realms of injection molding or extrusion manufacturing.
- Has experience in project management and budgeting.
- Deep comprehension of injection molding and extrusion operations, equipment maintenance techniques, and tooling best practices.
- Demonstrates a history of successful maintenance and tooling management.
- Is proficient in interpreting engineering drawings and specifications.
- Is knowledgeable about relevant safety standards and regulations.
- Exhibits outstanding leadership, motivational, and team-building skills.
- Possesses excellent communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal abilities.
- Expertise in mold and die design, upkeep, and optimization.
- Is proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, has a good grasp of maintenance management software (CMMS), and is familiar with tooling management systems.
