Summary - basic function of the role
As the Director of Commercial Marketing, you will play a pivotal role in driving the commercial success of our global strategy and be a key leader for the Americas commercial team. You will be responsible for developing and executing strategic marketing initiatives to maximize revenue, expand market share, and enhance brand visibility within our target industries. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, you will lead efforts to identify market opportunities, develop compelling value propositions, and drive integrated marketing campaigns to effectively reach and engage our customers.
Shift: M onday - Friday, hybrid 3 days in office schedule in Menomonee Falls for 2024. Relocating to Milwaukee, WI in early 2025.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and execute comprehensive marketing strategies aligned with our business objectives to drive commercial growth and profitability
- Oversee the creation of marketing collateral, including sales presentations, product datasheets, brochures, and digital content, to support sales efforts and enhance brand awareness.
- Collaborate with sales, product development, and operations teams to develop and refine compelling value propositions and competitive positioning for our products and services.
- Lead market research initiatives to identify emerging trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape within target industries.
- Develop and manage marketing budgets, ensuring efficient allocation of resources to achieve desired outcomes.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, industry influencers, and strategic partners.
- Utilize data analytics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to track marketing effectiveness, measure ROI, and optimize marketing strategies and tactics.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing marketing team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Own the lead management follow up process including the management of SDR's (sales development reps)
- Work closely with channel partners to execute on collaborate marketing initiatives
Skills and Competencies
- Strategic thinker with a proactive and results-driven mindset, capable of identifying and capitalizing on market opportunities.
- Proven track record of success in developing and implementing strategic marketing plans that drive revenue growth and market expansion within the industrial manufacturing sector.
- Experience with industrial distribution in North America and preferably Latin America as well
- Experience developing marketing communication and product launch strategies to achieve target financial goals
- Ability to obtain and manage voice of customer information from internal and external customers
- Demonstrated skills in project management with cross-functional teams
- Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills are required
- External customer relations experience
- Excellent organizational skills are required
- Domestic and international travel required
- Training capabilities is preferred
- Proficiency using electronic spreadsheet, database, word processing and graphical presentation software, preferably Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word and Power Point) are required.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA preferred.
- Ten or more years' experience in a marketing, ideally with experience or high exposure to industrial products in American markets; sustained record of self-motivated industrial/manufacturing sales or marketing achievements. Management experienced preferred.
- Experience working with global partners is preferred.
Physical Demands
Employee may have to lift documents/work materials up to 30 pounds in weight. Employee may have to life demonstration tooling up to 100 pounds in weight. Employee will have to be able to walk/climb to a variety of primary work locations, including traveling by air/auto to remote sites. This can include occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles, and the like. Employee will need to listen, understand, and speak with team members in person, telephonically, and electronically at all levels within a diverse workforce and with supported organizations. Employee will need to assess the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned. Employee can work in front of a personal computer and telephone for long periods of time. Will have repetitive motions that include the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
Work Environment
Primary work environment is temperature-controlled office setting but may also be visiting different customers where following appropriate safety protocols at the location would be required. While visiting customers, employee may occasionally be exposed to high/low temperatures, outdoor elements (such as precipitation and wind), high levels of noise, hazardous conditions, small and/or enclosed spaces, or adverse environmental conditions.
