Position Summary
The Director of Marketing will be a visionary leader responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive marketing strategy that drives patient acquisition, product sales, and brand growth for a high-level Cosmetic Surgery and Dermatology practice in Chicago. This role requires a deep understanding of both traditional and digital marketing, including A/B testing, marketing segmentation, email marketing, social media management, and video production. The ideal candidate will possess a unique blend of creative, analytical, and leadership skills, with a proven track record of driving growth in a competitive market. In addition to supporting Chicago Cosmetic Surgery and Dermatology, the Director of Marketing will also play a key role in promoting Chicago Skin Science, the practice's retail store. This will involve aligning marketing strategies for both the medical practice and retail brand to ensure cohesive growth and brand recognition.

Essential Functions
- Marketing Strategy & Innovation
- Develop a multi-channel marketing strategy that encompasses both traditional and digital tactics to drive patient acquisition, product sales, and brand growth. This should include paid search, organic SEO, content marketing, social media, email marketing, influencer collaborations, and print advertising.
- Conduct market research and competitive analysis to understand market trends, patient needs, and competitor activities, leveraging these insights to inform marketing strategies and stay ahead of industry trends.
- Create and manage a marketing calendar to ensure a cohesive approach to campaigns, promotions, and content across all channels, including seasonal initiatives, product launches, and patient engagement activities.
- Implement A/B testing and other conversion optimization techniques to refine messaging, offers, and campaign structures for maximum effectiveness, including testing landing pages, email subject lines, and ad copy.
- Utilize customer journey mapping to identify key touchpoints and optimize the patient experience, ensuring that marketing efforts address each stage of the journey from awareness to retention.
- Drive innovation in marketing efforts by exploring new platforms and technologies, such as programmatic advertising, geo-targeting, voice search optimization, or augmented reality (AR) experiences.
- Collaborate with the executive team to align marketing objectives with the overall business strategy, ensuring that all marketing activities support growth goals.
Product Promotion & Sales Growth
- Lead the development of multi-channel promotional campaigns for the practice's cosmetic products and services, utilizing email, social media, in-store displays, and partnerships to maximize reach and engagement.
- Collaborate with the sales and product development teams to craft compelling marketing messages that highlight the benefits of new products and services, and differentiate the practice from competitors.
- Leverage data-driven insights to fine-tune promotional tactics based on the performance of previous campaigns, adjusting strategies in real-time to improve results.
- Create bundled offers, discounts, and loyalty programs that incentivize patients to purchase multiple products or services, increasing average transaction value.
- Oversee in-store merchandising efforts, including the design and placement of product displays, to drive sales within the practice's retail environment.
- Develop co-marketing initiatives with complementary brands, local businesses, or industry partners to expand reach and enhance product visibility.
Digital Marketing & Content Creation
- Manage all aspects of the practice's digital presence, including the website, social media accounts, email marketing campaigns, online store, and paid advertising efforts.
- Lead the design and execution of content marketing initiatives, such as blog posts, e-books, webinars, podcasts, and infographics, that position the practice as a thought leader in the aesthetic and dermatology industry.
- Implement SEO best practices to ensure all digital content, including website pages, blog articles, and videos, is optimized for search engines to increase organic traffic.
- Utilize video content to boost engagement, such as patient testimonials, treatment demonstrations, behind-the-scenes content, and educational videos that explain procedures or products.
- Coordinate influencer partnerships and patient ambassador programs to generate authentic content and extend the brand's reach.
- Develop retargeting strategies to nurture leads who have engaged with the practice's website or social media but have not yet converted.
- Ensure a consistent brand voice and visual identity across all digital and offline marketing materials.
- Oversee e-commerce activities for Chicago Skin Science, including managing product listings, promotions, and user experience improvements on the WooCommerce platform.
Data Analysis & Marketing Insights
- Monitor and analyze key marketing metrics, including patient acquisition cost, lifetime value, conversion rates, website traffic, social media engagement, and email open/click-through rates.
- Utilize marketing automation tools to segment audiences and personalize messaging, improving the effectiveness of campaigns.
- Track and report on sales funnels to understand where leads drop off and implement strategies to improve conversion rates.
- Integrate marketing data with CRM systems to create comprehensive profiles of patient interactions and optimize follow-up strategies.
- Implement predictive analytics techniques to forecast trends and adjust marketing plans accordingly.
- Present actionable insights to the executive team on a regular basis, using dashboards and visualizations that highlight campaign performance and recommend adjustments to strategies.
Leadership & Team Management
- Recruit, train, and retain top marketing talent, fostering a results-oriented team culture that values collaboration and professional development.
- Assign clear roles and responsibilities within the marketing team, delegating tasks based on individual strengths and project needs.
- Implement a system for setting and tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) for the marketing team, aligning individual objectives with the practice's growth goals.
- Develop a mentorship program or career development path to encourage continuous learning and skill enhancement among team members.
- Conduct quarterly marketing reviews, assessing team performance and adjusting strategies based on results.
- Coordinate training for team members on new tools, platforms, or strategies to ensure the department stays ahead of emerging marketing trends.
Project Management
- Use project management tools (e.g., Microsoft Planner, Smartsheet, Asana, Trello, Monday.com) to track progress on campaigns, ensuring that tasks are completed on time and within budget.
- Create detailed project plans that outline key milestones, deliverables, timelines, and resource requirements for marketing initiatives.
- Manage vendor relationships, negotiating contracts and assessing the performance of third-party agencies, freelancers, or technology partners.
- Oversee budget allocation for all marketing activities, optimizing spend to achieve the best return on investment (ROI) while staying within financial constraints.
- Implement quality assurance processes to review all marketing materials for accuracy, brand consistency, and compliance with industry regulations before publication.
Customer Experience & Brand Management
- Develop patient engagement strategies that extend beyond initial acquisition, such as loyalty programs, personalized follow-ups, and exclusive events for VIP patients.
- Oversee reputation management efforts, monitoring online reviews and social media comments, and addressing any concerns promptly to maintain a positive brand image.
- Enhance the patient onboarding process by coordinating with the front desk and clinical teams to ensure a seamless experience from initial inquiry to follow-up care.
- Manage crisis communications, developing protocols for responding to negative publicity or adverse events, while protecting the practice's reputation.
- Organize community outreach and sponsorship activities to build goodwill and brand visibility within the local market.
- Regularly review brand guidelines to ensure consistency in tone, style, and visual elements across all marketing channels.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years in a senior marketing role, ideally with experience in a leadership position within the healthcare or aesthetic industry.
- Skills:
- Proven expertise in developing and executing successful marketing strategies that drive growth in patient acquisition and product sales.
