Vumedi is making key hires to keep pace with demand and expansion.
The Basics:
We are looking for a Director of Marketing Operations to oversee and optimize our email communication strategy. This role is crucial to ensuring that our emails reach the right audience at the right time, while maintaining high deliverability rates, and optimizing email engagement and performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor & Optimize Deliverability:
- Ensure high inbox placement rates email deliverability rates and by monitoring sender reputation (e.g. Sender Score, Gmail Postmaster Tools, etc.), IP health, and domain performance.
- Manage and maintain relationships with Email Service Providers (ESPs) and deliverability vendors tools.
- Diagnose and resolve deliverability issues (ISPs, spam filters, blacklists, bounces, etc.).
- Compliance & Best Practices:
- Stay updated with the latest email marketing regulations (e.g., CAN-SPAM, GDPR) and ensure compliance.
- Monitor email Implement authentication (SPF, DKIM, and DMARC) and regularly review protocols such as SPF, DKIM, and DMARC reporting.
- Work with internal teams to ensure email templates, subject lines, and content adhere to best practices to avoid spam filters.
- Data Analysis & Reporting:
- Analyze email campaign performance (open rates, click-through rates, bounce rates, etc.) and identify trends or issues.
- Provide regular reports on deliverability metrics and recommend strategies for improvement.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to adjust strategies based on data-driven insights.
- List Hygiene & Segmentation:
- Manage and maintain email lists, ensuring proper segmentation, opt-in processes, and ongoing list hygiene (removing inactive or unengaged users).
- Develop strategies to grow engaged, high-quality email lists
- Campaign Operations
- Oversee end-to-end campaign execution, from planning to reporting, to ensure accurate and timely delivery of marketing campaigns
- Develop workflows, timelines, and project management frameworks to ensure campaign consistency across all specialties
- Establish and own processes for segmentation, audience targeting, and personalization, working with Education and Marketing teams to maximize relevance and engagement.
- Manage campaign calendars to align cross-functional teams and ensure optimal timing and execution
- Oversee the implementation of new email and push notification templates
- Support Marketing team in A/B test-set up, coordinating with the Analytics team to ensure we have the right tracking in place
- Building and managing teams
- Build, mentor, and manage a high-performing marketing operations team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement
- Provide coaching and professional development opportunities to team members, helping them grow their skills in deliverability, campaign management, tracking / monitoring, and overall management of an organization's marketing tech stack
- Process Improvement & Training
- Create and document standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all marketing operations functions, promoting consistent practices and knowledge sharing across the team.
- Cross-functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with marketing, product, and engineering teams to align email strategies with overall business objectives.
- Provide guidance on email marketing practices, engagement strategies, and deliverability-related issues.
Requirements:
- 10+ years of experience in email deliverability management, preferably with B2B or B2C companies.
- Strong understanding of email marketing tools and ESPs (e.g. Mailgun, SparkPost, SendGrid, Mailchimp, or similar).
- Expertise in email authentication standards (SPF, DKIM, DMARC).
- Experience with analytics platforms and metrics reporting tools.
- Knowledge of industry regulations and best practices (GDPR, CAN-SPAM, etc.).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Experience in developing and implementing review processes to enhance the quality and efficiencies across teams
- Ability to work cross-functionally and communicate complex deliverability issues to non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in the healthcare, medical education, or related industries.
- Familiarity with marketing automation tools and CRM systems.
- Certification in email deliverability or related fields is a plus.
