Director of National Accounts
The Director of National Accounts directs and plans our National Account business strategy through internal or national account portals throughout the organization.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leads the strategic relationship with national account portals, supplyForce and Vantage.
- Evaluates corporate opportunities for a National Account strategy engaging our internal teams or our national account strategic partners.
- Develops a corporate business growth strategy that maximizes our engagement with national account contracts.
- Provides direction and general guidelines for engaging each branch and regional manager to implement national accounts in their annual business plans.
- Provides senior management with useful and timely information on key issues and trends that may impact our electrical distribution channel in national accounts.
- Participates in the senior management discussions that evaluate and approve the management/human resources and business system infrastructure required for McNaughton-McKay’s expansion and future growth in national accounts.
- Develop corporate sales and marketing activities that promote McNaughton-McKay as the electrical industry’s leading distributor for industrial electrical supplies and automation solutions within national accounts.
- Participate in the senior management discussions that guide our relationship with key product vendors (“key products” = McNaughton-McKay’s Top 20 product lines ranked by sales volume).
- Evaluate new product lines, services and solutions that may enhance our position within national accounts.
- Assists and organizes the onboarding meetings and launches of new national accounts.
- Assist McNaughton-McKay’s account managers, sales managers and operations managers, with implementing new national account contracts.
- Works closely with our Reynolds National Account Manager to ensure optimal penetration within national accounts.
- Attends national account portal’s annual meetings and conferences.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities to be successful include:
- Bachelor’s degree in business management or marketing preferred.
- Minimum three (3) years’ sales or marketing experience, with a manufacturer of electrical equipment preferred.
- Minimum five (5) years sales or operations experience, with an electrical or industrial product distributor preferred.
- Advanced communication and negotiation skills.
- Intermediate computer skills to include Microsoft Office products, NxTrend, Correlation, and E-Sales.
- Strong analytical and negotiating skills, strong organizational skills.
- Strong business writing and oral presentation skills.
