SUMMARY:
The Director of Network Infrastructure is responsible for the overall operation, management, and maintenance of the network and computing resources including, but not limited to, wired and wireless, as well as systems and server infrastructure across Keller ISD to ensure compatibility, security, and integration with division strategies and business plans.
Supervising, scheduling, and coordinating with Network Engineers, Network Analysts, and Infrastructure teams to dedicate technology support resources to IT projects across the organization. Work to challenge employees to excel at their jobs, develop their skills, and assist them with goal setting and career development while delivering a working network and systems infrastructure.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Network Management
- Collaborates with internal and external personnel for the purpose of implementing and/or maintaining network infrastructure services in compliance with local, state, and federal laws.
- Directs department operations involving the maintenance of services and the implementation of new programs and/or processes (e.g., plan and implement new policies, procedures, and initiatives in all areas of employee information, etc.) for the purpose of providing services within established timeframes and in compliance with related requirements.
- Manages support for a wide variety of programs with an emphasis on network infrastructure to ensure District compliance with established guidelines.
- Monitors procedures for the purpose of ensuring accurate and efficient data collection.
- Oversees all network Infrastructure support including but not limited to the Wireless Team, Network Team, and Infrastructure Team, etc.
Analysis and Collaboration
- Facilitates meetings, workshops, seminars, etc. for the purpose of identifying issues, developing recommendations, supporting other staff, and serving as a District representative.
- Performs personnel functions (e.g., interviewing, evaluating, supervising, etc.) for the purpose of maintaining adequate staffing, enhancing the productivity of personnel, and achieving objectives within budget.
- Prepares a wide variety of often complex materials (e.g., plans, funding requests, reports, analyses, recommendations, procedures, etc.) for the purpose of documenting activities and issues, meeting compliance requirements, making presentations, and/or providing supporting materials for requested actions.
- Research emerging technologies for the purpose of maintaining cutting-edge availability of hardware, software, and technical applications.
- Researches and recommends topics required to manage assignments (e.g., relevant policies, new federal and state statutes, procedural and system changes, etc.) to develop new programs/services, ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, secure general information, and/or respond to requests.
Recordkeeping, Reporting and Inventory
- Write manuals and document current network procedures.
- Create and maintain documentation as it relates to system configuration, mapping, processes, and service records.
- Monitor and test system performance; prepare and deliver system performance statistics and reports.
Policy and Law
- Perform other duties, as assigned by the Chief Technology Officer, for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of District network infrastructure services.
- Maintain confidentiality.
- Pursue Professional Development activities for self and assigned staff; ensure that Professional Development activities are aligned with District goals and initiatives and current professional research.
- Comply with all policies, operating procedures, legal requirements, and verbal and written directives.
- Comply with the Professional Code of Ethics and Standard Practices for Texas Educators.
- Follow District safety protocols and emergency procedures.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:
- Bachelor’s Degree in IT or a related field of study with a network engineering focus (preferred)
- CCNAandCCNPCertificationrequired
- CCNA R&S, CCNA Cyber Ops, CCIE R&S certifications(preferred)
Experience:
- Seven (7) to ten (10) years IT and networking experience
- Five (5) to seven (7) years of supervisory or management experience that includes experience developing staff training plans, establishing goals for team members, making hiring/termination and other staffing decisions, and managing projects.
- Experience working with server technologies (preferred)

- Ability to evaluate the effectiveness of processes of varying levels of complexity, and to develop changes or alternatives.
- Knowledge of the principles, methods, and tools for evaluating information system security features against a set of security requirements.
- Ability toestablishand maintain effective working relationships.
