A senior living center nestled in the heart of Charlottesville, Virginia is seeking a dynamic and dedicated Director of Nursing to oversee our dedicated nursing team. This is a pivotal role that requires a strong clinical background, exceptional leadership skills, and a commitment to providing the highest quality of care to our elderly residents.
- Clinical Leadership:
- Oversee the delivery of comprehensive nursing care to residents, ensuring adherence to established standards of practice.
- Develop and implement innovative nursing practices to enhance resident outcomes.
- Collaborate with physicians and other health care professionals to create effective care plans.
- Team Management:
- Recruit, hire, and develop a highly skilled nursing team.
- Foster a positive and supportive work environment that promotes teamwork and collaboration.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback.
- Address staff concerns and resolve issues promptly and professionally.
- Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, including OSHA, HIPAA, and CMS.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to maintain regulatory standards.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections to identify and address potential compliance issues.
- Quality Assurance:
- Monitor quality indicators and implement strategies to improve performance.
- Analyze incident reports and implement corrective action plans.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient safety and satisfaction.
Supervisory Responsibilities: Will supervise RNs, LPNs, RMAs, CNAs, and Resident Services.

Qualifications:
- Education: BSN from an accredited school of Nursing. Current Virginia Board of Nursing Registered Nurse license or a Compact Nursing License. Compliance with state licensing CEU requirements. CPR/First Aid certification.
- Experience: 3-5 years of management nursing experience, preferably in a long-term care facility.
- Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage, lead, collaborate, train, educate, and supervise. Genuine interest in the elderly, with patience and tact. Willingness to learn and advance. Ability to work congenially with others and respect principles of resident rights, confidentiality, EEO, and ADA. Strong organizational and time management skills, including the ability to multitask and make efficient decisions.
