Job Summary
Manages all operations if The Living Center (TLC) including nursing, staffing, training and development continual evaluation of admittance criteria and resident assessments determination of appropriate acceptance release of residents marketing to individuals and health care facilities and professional s in the community preparation of departmental financial and operational reports and responsibility for the quality of services provided to residents.
Job responsibilities
- Maintains staffing as required to ensure quality services 24 hours per day
- Manages all aspects of department services and functions in order to ensure quality services and resident and family satisfaction.
- Works with other department managers in monitoring and coordinating quality services and food provided by other departments saving AL residents especially those services provided by Food and Beverage and Activities
- Assist in the admittance process for the lease of TLC apartments
- Develops and implements monthly in-service training programs for all staff on health conditions common to aging and specific to residents in assisted living as well as required training by the ALU Regulations.
- Develops annual budget for department and monitors budget throughout the year.
- Attends scheduled staff meetings for management staff.
- Prepares for annual State survey and complies with all current regulations by Federal State and local authorities.
- Determines nursing supplies equipment needed to meet the needs of the residents.
- Adheres to and carries out all policies and procedures in accordance with state, federal, local and 10WP regulations.
- Initiates and supervises necessary actions in the event of an emergency of disaster.
- Reports work injuries promptly to the Human Recourses Director and Executive Director on the day the injury occurs.
- Maintains confidentiality of verbal and written information pertaining to residents' facility operations and personnel.
- Completes new hire OSHA training on Exposure Control.
- Completes additional task assigned.
Minimum Qualifications Preferred
Education and Experience
Graduate if an accredited RN program or LPN program with a minimum of two-year experience in the capacity of Director of Nursing or Assistant Administrator or five years management experience directing a nursing program.
License and Certifications
Current and valid State of Ohio licensure for Registered Nurse or License Practical Nurse, current and valid CPR certification.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge and thorough understanding of gerontology and the ability to apply its principles to meet the overall needs of the elderly
Ability to provide nursing care according to physicians' orders and in conformance with recognized nursing practices, established standards and administrative policies
Ability to project credibility and assertiveness Knowledge if community services available for senior adults and the ability to coordinate follow up with physicians, hospitals, lawyers, clergy and other professional and organizations
Ability to plan and present in-service education and to luncheons and engagement with knowledge and professionalism
Ability to work autonomously
Knowledge of resident's rights and the ability to respond to each resident with empathy and respect
Knowledge of policies, procedures, philosophies, rule and regulations governing the delivery of services to consumers
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing
Ability to follow oral and written instructions
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, other departments and consumers
Ability to deal courteously and diplomatically with consumers, visitors and staff
