Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Nursing to lead our nursing team in a nursing home setting that is agency free and is a 80 beda. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing clinical direction, ensuring compliance with regulations, and fostering a positive and supportive work environment. The Director of Nursing will oversee all aspects of nursing care and collaborate with other departments to ensure the delivery of high-quality care to our residents.
Duties:
- Provide leadership and management to the nursing staff, including scheduling, staffing, and performance evaluations.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures that align with our mission and values, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
- Conduct regular rounds and assessments to ensure the delivery of quality care and identify areas for improvement.
- Oversee the completion of all documentation, including but not limited to resident assessments, care plans, and progress reports.
- Develop and maintain relationships with healthcare providers, ensuring timely and effective communication regarding resident care.
- Manage and coordinate home health services, ensuring seamless transitions for residents.
- Oversee the implementation of MDS assessments and ensure that all documentation is complete and accurate.
- Promote resident rights and advocate for their well-being and dignity.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and ensure that all nursing staff are aware of and adhere to these initiatives.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure the delivery of comprehensive care to our residents.
- Recruit, train, and orient nursing staff to ensure that they are equipped to provide high-quality care.
- Monitor and report on nursing staff turnover, ensuring that retention strategies are in place to support staff development and satisfaction.
- Stay current with the latest developments in nursing practice and implement best practices in our facility.
Experience:
- A Bachelor's degree in Nursing or a related field is required.
- A current RN license in the state of [insert state] is required.
- At least 5 years of experience in nursing management, with a focus on long-term care or assisted living.
- Proven experience in nurse management, including staff development, training, and performance evaluations.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and the ability to interpret MDS assessments.
- Experience with documentation review and the ability to ensure that all documentation is complete and accurate.
- A commitment to resident rights and a passion for providing high-quality care to our residents.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate others.
- Experience with home health services and the ability to coordinate and manage these services effectively.
