Director of Nursing – PACU
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Director of Nursing to lead our Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). This full-time position requires a visionary leader who can manage clinical operations, ensure regulatory compliance, and foster a collaborative environment focused on patient-centered care.
Location- Naples, FL
Compensation- Dependent on Experience $106,600 to $140,712. Potential for $15,000 Bonus Annually

Job Summary
The Director of Nursing is responsible for the 24/7 operations and management of the PACU. This role involves overseeing clinical nursing practice, patient care delivery, and resource management. The Director will also be accountable for strategic planning, personnel development, and fostering interdisciplinary relationships within the unit and the hospital. As a patient advocate, the Director ensures that all patient needs—physical, mental, spiritual, and emotional—are met.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Operational Management: Direct and evaluate PACU operations in alignment with hospital policies and nursing standards to provide top-tier patient care.
- Patient-Centered Care: Prioritize patient/family-focused care to meet quality expectations and ensure satisfaction.
- Financial Accountability: Plan, direct, staff, coordinate, and control departmental functions while managing financial performance targets. Prepare and monitor budgets using financial tools.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with regulations from OSHA, DCF, TJC, EEOC, CDC, ACHA, etc., maintaining department adherence at all times.
- Personnel Management: Oversee hiring, performance appraisals, disciplinary actions, terminations, and other personnel-related activities.
- Change Management: Adapt to changes in the healthcare environment and assist staff in understanding these changes.
- Service Excellence: Maintain high service levels for patients, families, visitors, physicians, and other departments. Address complaints promptly.
- Policy Implementation: Develop policies to ensure clear understanding and adherence to care standards by all staff members.
- Professional Practice Model: Promote a collaborative practice model that encourages staff participation in developing clinical standards based on current trends.
Education, Experience, and Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; Master’s Degree preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years in leadership roles preferred; 3-5 years of RN experience required.
- Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association is mandatory.
- Licensure: Registered Nurse license in the State of Florida.
- Skills: Strong analytical, motivational, and strategic planning skills; intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Windows.
