River Oaks Senior Living Community in Rochester is hiring for a Director of Nursing. Experience as a nurse in senior living communities is a requirement.

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

• Maintains current state license as a Professional RN or LPN per state regulations
• Experience in assisted living, home health or long-term care industries
• A minimum of two (2) years’ experience as a Registered Nurse or LPN
• Demonstration of competence in assessment skills, injections/medication administration, follow up and triage
• Minimum one (1) year nursing management experience including hiring staff, coaching, performance management daily operations supervision, discipline and counseling
• Ability to delegate assignments to the appropriate individuals based on their skills, roles and interests
• Possess written and verbal skills for effective communication and the ability to facilitate small group presentations
• Competent in organizational, time management skills
• Demonstrates good judgment, problem solving and decision-making skills
• Demonstration of proficiency in computer skills
• Ability to work weekends, evenings & flexible hours as needed for resident care/services, must be available to our customers at peak service times and as needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

• Ensures that community follows all federal, state, local laws and regulations and standards as it pertains to resident clinical care
• Identifies on-going needs and services of residents through the assessment/Service Plan process
• Ensures proper follow through and documentation for residents with a change in health care status
• Responsible for clinical compliance of clinical expectations as well as other regulatory compliance
• Participation in community awareness activities and community relations
• Maintains communications with resident’s family and responsible party
• Responsible for collecting, analyzing and reporting clinical indicators monthly and if necessary, develop/implement improvement plans
• Partners with leadership team to ensure community follows Risk Management and OSHA requirements
• Partners with pharmacy consultant to provide optimal pharmaceutical services to residents
• Responsible for infection control programming in community
• Responsible for the safe and efficient distribution/administration of injections, nebulizers, moderate wound care per state regulations
• Overall management of the department, including, but not limited to: recruiting, hiring, training, coaching and disciplining
• Conducts timely performance appraisals with meaningful conversations
• Holds critical team accountable, corrects actions when necessary and documents
• Attends regular meetings: Stand Up, Cross Over, Department Head Meetings, Town Hall, Quality Improvement, and others as directed by the Executive Director
