Summary:
The Director of Operations is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations. This role will require strong leadership, organizational skills, and a deep understanding of the food industry. The Director will work closely with the executive team to develop and implement strategies that drive growth, profitability, and operational excellence.
Operational Management:
- Oversee all aspects of food operations, including production, quality control, logistics, and supply chain management.
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations, HACCP standards, and industry best practices.
- Manage and optimize operational costs, including labor, materials, and overhead expenses.
- Develop and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and productivity.
Team Leadership:
- Recruit, hire, and develop a high-performing team of operations professionals.
- Provide leadership, guidance, and support to team members to achieve their goals.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
Business Development:
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the food industry.
- Develop and implement strategies to expand market share and increase revenue.
- Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to develop and execute effective go-to-market plans.
Financial Performance:
- Develop and manage budgets for the food division.
- Monitor financial performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Analyze financial data to make informed business decisions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in food science, business administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in food operations management.
- Proven track record of success in leading and managing food manufacturing operations.
- Strong leadership skills and ability to motivate and inspire teams.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Strong financial acumen and analytical abilities.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations, HACCP standards, and industry best practices.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
Education Skills
- Experience in a food manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Experience with ERP systems and other operational software.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- A passion for the food industry and a commitment to quality.
