Overview
The Operations Director II is responsible to plan, coordinate, and organize systems, processes, and employees that define a scalable distribution network for materials and goods to support business and growth objectives.
Primary Responsibilities
- Direct all aspects of the distribution operation including picking and packing, shipping and receiving, replenishment, production, returns, inventory control management, and maintenance of facilities
- Establish, evaluate, and maintain performance standards for all areas of the warehouse that can be measured to ensure accountability and client Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
- Ensure operating efficiencies by constantly reviewing performance to identify continuous improvement opportunities and implement new strategies when needed
- Provides leadership in cost reduction through continuous process improvements and automation to maintain and enhance margins to sustain profitability
- Manage and administer the planning and control systems related to the complete flow of material from receiving through shipping, as well as the associated transactional controls required to support it
- Responsible for all budgeting and reporting efforts including labor, operating expenses, Profit & Loss and forecasting
- Coordinate with Client Relations and Sales for the successful implementation of new clients
- Partner with the senior management team to strategically plan for future growth
- Analyze capacity and capital equipment requirements, client forecasts, business objectives, organizational processes, etc
- Develop and execute plans for continual growth and peak seasons
- Anticipate future resources, procedures and system requirements as changes in business dictate
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Additional Primary Responsibilities
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor s Degree and 7 years of experience or equivalent education and related experience
- Strong organization, multi-tasking and time management skills
- Working knowledge of Six Sigma and Lean Methodologies
- Demonstrate clear knowledge of laws, regulations, and guidelines within their respective industries to ensure compliance with regulatory agencies and organizations
- Proficient with Enterprise Systems such as SAP software and Warehouse Management Systems
- Wine & Spirits Industry knowledge to include basic understanding of distribution, wine varietals and leading spirit categories
Physical Demands
- Physical demands with activity or condition for a considerable amount of time include sitting and typing/keyboarding using a computer (e.g., keyboard, mouse, and monitor) or adding machine
- Physical demands with activity or condition may include occasional to rare amount of time include walking, bending, reaching, standing, and stooping
- May require occasional lifting/lowering, pushing, carrying, or pulling up to 15lbs
