Summary
The Director of Operations is responsible for everything that goes on inside the fence-line and is the driver of the production process. We look to the Director of Operations to build a collaborative environment between operations, sales, engineering, and accounting. This dynamic leader will be pushing continuous improvement in workplace safety, production efficiency, product cost, and customer service.
Responsibilities
- Work with managers to identify initiatives for improving manufacturing, distribution, supply chain//inventory, and other operational capabilities.
- Contribute to continued excellence in efficiency, cost and customer satisfaction.
- Assess current and future requirements in determining optimal processes, procedures and standards within company warehouses, customer service and sales departments.
- Evaluate and monitor branch metrics and headcount.
- Coordinate growth and expansion strategies among multi-departmental levels in support of growth objectives.
- Develop business plans which include creating an operational budget.
- Work closely with the Manufacturing Team to streamline processes, maximize efficiencies, and produce high yields in both the automated and manual cells.
- Continuously seeks to improve the manufacturing process through innovation and implementing in process quality checks to ensure our customer's are receiving the highest quality parts out of our manufacturing processes.
- Ensure locations are operating efficiently to achieve revenue and profitability goals
- Plans all aspects of logistics in order to achieve the highest level of service
- Ensures a safe / secure working environment from conceptual design through implementation.
- Establishes and maintains positive employee relations and excellent internal communication
- Establish accountabilities and processes to ensure required levels of productivity and organizational objectives are achieved that support the company's strategic objectives.
- Leverage business acumen, operational experience, and in-depth industry knowledge to provide valuable insights to collaborate with other company leaders for strategic planning and synergies.
- Develop operations systems by determining product handling and storage requirements; develop, implement, enforce and evaluate policies and procedures; develop processes for receiving product, equipment utilization, inventory management and shipping
- Work closely with the inventory managers and team to perform analysis of our inventory and ensure we are utilizing our inventory effectively, purchasing the right equipment, maintaining accurate inventory data
- Recruit, select, train, assign, schedule, coach, counsel and discipline employees
- Safety Leader, running a safe, injury/accident free workplace. Design and implement a safety program with a focus on metrics (Ex: TRIR) with a long term prevention, education and training focus.
- Implement Lean Six Sigma focused manufacturing principles and strategies within all operations.
Required Education and Experience
- Must have proven track record of implementing and improving organizational performance. Exceptional project management, strong decision making and solution implementation skills required. Ability to comfortably work in a high volume environment and manage multi-site work locations.

- Proven record of effective manufacturing and distribution management.
- Excellent customer-facing experience and strong communication skills.
- Experience leading large multi-location / branch sites, including sales, customer service and warehouse responsibilities.
- Skilled in data analysis and systems.
- Strong team leadership and process management skills.
- Experience working with ERP and warehouse management systems.
- Able to work collaboratively with multiple department leaders to gain consensus on projects and initiatives and develop long-term operational plans.
- Available to travel between multiple site locations.
- Experience with Lean Six Sigma methodologies and principles is desired.
