JOB SUMMARY:
The Director of Service and Installation is responsible for leading and supporting the service and installation departments through the profitable execution and delivery of division goals. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical contracting, exceptional leadership skills, and a proven track record of driving operational excellence. The role is pivotal in ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality service and installation projects, fostering client relationships, and optimizing the branch and division performance.
Responsibilities:- Oversee the service and installation departments, manage client relationships and client satisfaction.
- Oversee daily operations, ensuring projects are completed on-time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality.
- Develop and implement policies, procedures, and best practices to enhance operational efficiency and safety.
- Manage a portfolio of service and installation projects and project managers, from initiation to completion.
- Achieve the P&L targets through effective leadership.
- Direct, plan, approve, revise, and implement overall field operations growth strategies. Establish and monitor KPIs for service delivery.
- Utilize metrics and dashboards to measure productivity and identify areas of improvement.
- Collaborate with other functional leaders to ensure cross-functional alignment and synergy.
- Set and communicate clear performance expectations, creating a culture of accountability to ensure organizational efforts are positioned to exceed service and installation expectations.
- Assist with escalated client issues regarding Installation and service projects, conducts root-cause analysis and implements appropriate corrective actions to prevent similar issues in the future.
- Recruit, hire, and train staff, evaluate employee performance and recommend or initiate promotions, transfers and disciplinary action.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, technologies, and best practices, integrating them into the branch’s operations.
- Perform other assigned duties.
- High School Diploma or General Education Certification Degree (G.E.D.); an associate, bachelor’s degree, or MBA a plus
- 7+ years of related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education, experience, and training.
- 3+ years of experience managing large, decentralized teams including remote worker force.
- Project Management Professional (PMP, PMI) or comparable training a plus
- Office 365, Sage ERP, Salesforce CRM and other related technologies.
- Excellent project management and organizational abilities.
- Expert knowledge of customer relationship management (CRM) and Enterprise resource planning (ERP).
- Expert knowledge of business and project management including automated project management tools, financial reports, budgeting, and general knowledge of accounting principles.
- Advanced knowledge plumbing, HVAC, and refrigeration projects and service work.
- Advanced knowledge of construction industry including principles and practices related to project estimation, labor forecasting and building permits.
- Ability to understand and apply organizational problem solving, analytical, and administrative skills.
- Ability to lead diverse and multi-discipline work force.
