Job Details
Position Overview: The Director of Outsourced Accounting Services will be responsible for managing all operational aspects of our accounting practice, with a focus on expanding our services to for-profit clients and leading an offshoring initiative. This leadership role requires a blend of strategic vision, operational expertise, and team management skills to ensure exceptional service delivery and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Oversight: Oversee the daily operations of the accounting practice, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness in service delivery for both not-for-profit and for-profit clients.
Expansion Strategy: Develop and implement strategies to successfully transition and expand the practice from not-for-profit accounting to include for-profit services, identifying target markets and service offerings.
Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of accounting professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture. Ensure proper training and resources are provided for team members.
Process Improvement: Streamline accounting processes and workflows to enhance productivity and service quality. Implement best practices to optimize client service delivery.
Offshoring Initiative: Spearhead the offshoring strategy, evaluating potential partners, managing relationships, and ensuring successful integration of offshore resources into the practice.
Client Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs and ensuring exceptional service delivery.
Financial Oversight: Monitor financial performance of the practice, including budgeting, forecasting, and profitability analysis.
Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure adherence to accounting standards and regulations for both not-for-profit and for-profit entities. Manage risk by implementing effective internal controls.
Collaboration: Work closely with other departments to enhance service offerings and develop new client opportunities.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
8+ years of accounting experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within an accounting firm or financial services environment.
Strong knowledge of not-for-profit accounting standards, as well as for-profit accounting practices.
Experience with offshoring initiatives or managing remote teams is highly desirable.
Excellent strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and lead a diverse team.
Proven track record of driving operational improvements and achieving growth objectives.
