Job Summary: Serve as a Director of People and Talent Operations which includes leadership of the Human Resources and Talent Development ministries. Lead the ministry into growth in quality and effectiveness in its areas of mission, and in relevant objectives in the Strategic Plan. The Director of People and Talent Operations will plan, lead, direct, develop, and coordinate the policies, activities, and staff of the Human Resource (HR) ministry and Talent Development ministry, ensuring legal compliance and implementation of the organization's mission and talent strategy.

Essential Functions:
Culture and Values
• Share the Good News of Jesus Christ in words and actions with people we serve, communicating hope and dignity
• Walk alongside fellow WSM staff in Christian community as we journey toward maturity
• Encourage restoration in the lives of guests, recognizing we are each restored by God to become restorers
• Work in full coordination with other WSM staff at all times to identify, report and respond appropriately to any potential threats to the safety and wellbeing of guests
• Embody, encourage and cultivate WSM culture, purpose, mission and values in words and actions
Role Specific Responsibilities
• Partner with the VP, People and Culture to develop HR plans and strategies to support the achievement of the overall organization objectives.
• Partner with the Talent Development Manager to develop comprehensive strategic recruiting plans to meet the staffing needs of the organization.
• Develop and implement comprehensive compensation and benefits plans that are competitive and cost-effective and aligned with overall culture and strategy.
• Partner with department managers to understand organizational needs and align HR strategies and policies to deliver accordingly.
• Provide overall leadership and guidance to the HR and Talent Management functions by developing and supporting staff in their roles and leading the process of developing programs and initiatives.
• Partner with Talent Development Manager to Design training program strategies that will develop staff, increase retention, and enable leaders to become more successful.
• Plans, leads, develops, coordinates, and implements policies, processes, training, initiatives, and surveys to support the organization's human resource compliance and strategy needs.
• Administers or oversees the administration of human resource programs including, but not limited to, compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations.
• Establish, with the collaboration of the People and Culture team, training and development programs and objectives based in WSM Strategic Plan development and best practices
• Conducts research and analysis of organizational trends including review of reports and metrics from the organization's human resource information system (HRIS) or talent management system.
• Monitors and ensures the organization's compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews and modifies policies and practices to maintain compliance.
• Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law; applies this knowledge to communicate changes in policy, practice, and resources to upper management.
• Develops and implements departmental budget.
• Facilitates professional development, training, and certification activities for HR staff.

Supervision
• Supervise the Human Resources team, and the Talent Development Manager
• Actively cultivate positive team culture and excellent supervisory practices
Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field required. At least five years of human resource management required. SHRM-CP highly preferred. Strong evidence of active Christian formation, spiritual maturity and wise leadership.
Reports To: Vice President, People and Culture
Key Internal Relationships: Operations Team; Leadership Team; People and Culture Departmental Team; Supervisors throughout WSM
