Develop and implement policies, procedures and strategies related to the physician practice operations.
- Develop goals, plans and standards consistent with clinical, administrative, legal and ethical requirements/objectives of the organization.
- Plan, organize and direct all activities related to staffing, including hiring, orienting, evaluating, disciplinary actions and continuing education initiatives.
- Prepare operational and departmental budgets and ensure compliance with allocated funding.
- Coordinate and direct internal/external audits.
- Direct and evaluate practice activities to achieve performance and quality control objectives
Education:
- High School diploma equivalency with 5 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required, with 2 of those years being in leadership/management OR Associate's degree/Bachelor's degree with 3 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required, with 2 of those years being in leadership/management.
The ideal candidate for the Operations Director position should possess a blend of strong leadership, strategic insight, and operational expertise in the health-care sector. Their educational background and practical experience will enable them to effectively lead the multi-specialty group toward operational excellence and improved patient care.
- Strong leadership skills to guide and motivate diverse teams
- Ability to manage cross-functional teams and drive performance
- Proficient in developing and implementing operational strategies that align with organizational goals
- Understanding of budgeting, financial analysis, and revenue cycle management
- Familiarity with health-care regulations and compliance standards
- Expertise in process improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective stakeholder engagement
- Strong analytical skills to identify issues and develop practical solutions
- Bachelor’s degree in Health-care Administration, Business Administration, or a related field OR Master’s degree in Health-care Administration (MHA), Business Administration (MBA), or Public Health (MPH)
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in health-care operations, with a focus on multi-specialty environments
- Proven track record in managing operational budgets and improving efficiency
- Experience in a leadership role within a multi-specialty group or similar health-care setting
- Background in project management and implementation of health-care technologies
- Experience with quality improvement initiatives and patient care standards
- Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems and health information technology
