Ampliform originates, develops, builds, operates, and optimizes utility-scale solar and solar + storage projects in the United States. Ampliform is led by a team of veteran developers, investors and operators in the energy sector with collectively over 100 years of management experience. Ampliform's team has originated and developed multiple gigawatts of solar energy projects and overseen several gigawatts of power generation investments.
Ampliform is a joint venture between Prospect14—a solar development platform with a data-driven approach to scaled project origination and development—and a seasoned team of infrastructure investors and operators with a track record of optimizing merchant coal, gas, and renewable power generation facilities.
Position Overview
The Director of Power Marketing will support Ampliform's land system through the project development life cycle and in support of key commercial objectives. This position is responsible for supporting origination and power marketing team members. This position will execute power marketing strategies and business plans to secure renewable energy deals.
As Director of Power Marketing you will be responsible for originating new business in the PJM, MISO, NYISO, NEPOOL, SERC, SPP, WECC by developing new and existing customer relationships, communicating Ampliform's story and key attributes of potential product offerings, and proposing and structuring clean energy power transactions for the company's solar, solar plus storage and energy storage portfolio. The role would be an ideal growth opportunity for an ambitious self-starter looking to build on existing experience in the energy industry to help fuel the growth of one of the most dynamic and entrepreneurial companies in the industry
Responsibilities:
- Initiate and identify new origination prospects and implement an outreach strategy for all products and technologies under development, with a focus on executing Power Purchase Agreements, Build Transfer Agreements, and Development Transfer Agreements
- Coordinate with development, finance, engineering, and other departments to develop solutions for customers, including assisting in the development of proposals and pricing for opportunities
- Originate and assist with structuring and closing large wholesale power transactions in coordination with Commercial Transactions team
- Review merchant curves and data sets that will inform PPA values
- Develop and implement customer and market strategies
- Develop and maintain strong customer and business relationships
- Prepare and deliver internal and external presentations, webinars, etc.
- Advance junior members of the origination team
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in engineering, mathematics, business, or other relevant field
- 5+ years of experience in the renewable energy field, power sector, or other related field
- Strong leadership, negotiation, and time management skills
- Ability to problem solve and think strategically
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Basic knowledge of power and renewable energy market dynamics
- Ability to stay current amid changing technology, regulations, and trends surrounding renewable energy.
Preferred:
- Graduate degree in related field;
- Experience in managing a team;
