Job Description
Olympus is seeking a Director of Product Management to lead a Tribe within our fast-growing product team. In this role, you will be responsible for coaching a team of product managers as well as guiding the development and execution of product strategy across the Tribe, ensuring our solutions solve problems for users in ways that meet the needs of the business. This role reports directly to the Head of Product.
The ideal candidate is an experienced leader with a passion for coaching and developing others, demonstrating a proven track record of nurturing talent. They have worked as part of a product trio to build products and to lead teams. They are a systems thinker who can see the big picture, make tough decisions to propel their team forward, and navigate ambiguity to set clear direction and goals. A deep understanding of the medical technology landscape, regulatory environment, and experience working within a QMS is preferred but not required. We believe strong product leaders learn quickly.
Job Duties
+ Tribe Leadership: Work as part of a product leadership trio with your counterparts in product design and engineering. Ensure the squads within the Tribe are working effectively and efficiently to deliver valuable solutions for users and objectives for the business.
+ Customer Focus: Deeply understand the needs of our users, including clinicians and patients, through direct interaction, research, and feedback. Ensure our products solve real problems and deliver tangible value.
+ Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, design, marketing, and sales teams to ensure seamless product development and launch. Foster a collaborative environment that encourages the sharing of ideas and best practices.
+ Product Lifecycle Management: Oversee the entire product lifecycle, from ideation and development to launch and post-launch optimization. Ensure timely delivery of high-quality products that meet market demands.
+ Data-driven Decision Making: Utilize data and analytics to inform product decisions, track performance, and drive continuous improvement. Implement metrics to measure product success and identify areas for enhancement.
+ Mentorship and Team Development: Mentor and develop a high-performing team of product managers. Provide guidance, support, and opportunities for professional growth.
+ Market Awareness: Stay abreast of industry trends, competitive landscape, and emerging technologies. Use this knowledge to inform product strategy and maintain a competitive edge.
+ Stakeholder Management: Communicate effectively with executive leadership, stakeholders, and customers. Provide regular updates on product progress, challenges, and opportunities.
+ Product Culture: Cultivate a strong product culture, emphasizing continuous and rapid testing, learning from mistakes, and the value of product design and engineering partnerships.
+ Product Strategy and Execution: Translate our product vision into a clear strategy with actionable steps. Ensure your team understands their goals and how they align with the larger objectives of the organization.
Job Qualifications
Required:
+ Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience; advanced degree preferred.
+ Minimum of 12 years of industry experience in product management or similar roles (project management, operations, engineering, account management, etc.).
+ Minimum of 4 years of experience as a director of product management or similar management role (project management, operations, engineering, etc.).
+ Other Considerations (travel/hours availability, etc.):
+ Travel required (US and International).
+ Availability to attend meeting with team members spread out around the globe.
Preferred:
+ You are a great product manager who has delivered products in a fast-paced, high-growth environment; you have delivered real products and your experience goes beyond “theory”.
+ You are a strong, proven leader and manager with experience developing product teams.
+ You have superb written, verbal and visual communication skills and are at ease understanding and explaining technical topics to technical and non-technical audiences.
+ You have strong relationship building skills and the ability to relate constructively to all levels of an organization.
+ You thrive in fast-paced, complex and fluid environments where you have a high degree of autonomy to achieve the objectives you are given.
+ You have a can-do attitude and ability to juggle regularly changing priorities.
+ Great to have/what makes you stand out:
