Fuse is looking for a dynamic and action-oriented Director of Programs to develop, implement, and drive successful program execution and portfolio growth. This role will oversee the program's strategic direction, stakeholder management, and operational execution. Must be a proven multi-faceted leader who is passionate about supporting our Noble Cause of advancing warfighter capabilities with elegant, user-focused communications, networks, and software systems.
Warfighter-focused design and development is at the heart of Fuse processes. Throughout Fuse development our experienced team applies the best practices of commercial design-think, coupled to the DoD systems engineering framework. The coupling of commercially proven design with rigorous systems engineering gives Fuse an ability to rapidly design, develop and field solutions well inside of typical military design cycles. With an Agile approach to development (for both software and hardware) Fuse rapidly innovates, putting creative concepts into action, and refining those concepts through hands on test, user evaluation, and iteration.
What you’ll do:
This position will work in close coordination with the President, and Directors of Strategy, Engineering and Technology, Operations and Production, and Finance.
- Provide guidance: Lead, supervise and motivate Program and Project Managers
- Craft program and project objectives and communicate these to program leads
- Apply Strategic thinking: Set objectives, develop plans, and align programs with company-wide goals
- Build and execute portfolio growth strategies
- Communicate project goals and expectations to teams, stakeholders, and partners
- Oversee the development and management of Program and Project timelines, budgets, and schedules
- Streamline workflows, maximize resource utilization, and ensure that each function is performed to align with the objectives
- Develop insightful reports for top management.
- Hire, train, and motivate team members
- Understand company vision and goals and implement plans to support both current and future strategies
- Work closely with finance to develop, understand, and execute budget
- Support labor and budget forecasts
- Oversee team member performance evaluations at all levels
Requirements
This role will join a collaborative leadership team that drives change and growth. Ideal candidates will have experience in DoD program management and acquisition process, operational experience in one or more of our business areas, understanding of DoD C4ISR architectures, proven experience supervising multiple business areas and teams, and the character and ability to be hands on in this growing and dynamic time. This role will support teams that are focused on technical leadership and early product development including requirements development, system design, system integration and test for complex technical systems, with a focus on end user and warfighter needs.
- Bachelor’s Degree with 12 years’ experience in Program Management
- Experience with DoD technology in one or more of our Business Areas
- Management Degree, MBA, or similar certification (such as PMP)
- Understanding of strategic processes and policies
- Proven leadership managing a multi-faceted team
- U.S. citizenship
- US Secret Clearance
Must be a nimble self-starter who is excited about technology and has the ability to think out of the box and suggest powerful new ideas
Nice to have:
- Advanced Education: Master’s of Business Administration
- Experience in agile, professional SW development environments
- Working knowledge and experience with military networking systems
- Experience with DoD Communications networks and C4ISR solutions
