ROLE SUMMARY
This position reports to the VP of Project Management. This position is expected to travel up to 10%. Regular attendance, in accordance with company's attendance policy and supervisory assignment, is an essential job duty requirement for this position. The role will primarily be responsible for:
- Successful management, oversight, and delivery of all projects within their portfolio
- Successful attainment of project performance KPIs/results, for all projects and PMs in their portfolio
- Margin performance relative to goal/target on their portfolio of projects
- Portfolio governance, process adherence and adoption
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION & ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Participates in the development and preparation of the project pricing and assists the Preconstruction team and PM in defining the appropriate execution strategy, tasks, functions, roles, risks, etc. so that the as-sold price can be finalized, and the target margin and project performance goals can be established.
- Helps ensure that all appropriate and needed input to the opportunity development has been suitably engaged and that stakeholders have been consulted;
- Ensures that Pricing Review and Gate Reviews are completed per procedural requirements;
- Works with PM and project controls to ensure appropriate transition from opportunity to project and that project setup is completed accurately per as-sold targets and procedural requirements;
- Assists in the determination of and establishment of required contingencies, reserves, and associated drawdown schedules as necessary.
- Monitors the projected delivery of as-sold target margin and performance KPIs for a portfolio of projects and PMs. Focuses on enhancing margin results through robust budget, change and cash management and the overall delivery of safe, ethical, high-quality and value-added services to our clients.
- Reviews and approves project initiation/setup documentation including Risk Management Plan and Project Delivery Plan;
- Reviews and approves the final project pricing and established financial targets;
- Ensures that the required internal and external meetings and sessions are conducted including Client Expectation, Client Kick-Off, Team Kick-Off, Team Alignment, Interactive Planning, etc.
- Works with PMs and project controls in their portfolio to ensure that required monthly project forecasting and status updates are completed, and that ETCs/EACs are valid and accurate, per procedural requirements;
- Conducts Monthly Project Reviews per requirements and escalates critical issues as necessary. Works with PMs and VP of Project Management to address necessary actions;
- Monitors, tracks, identifies deviations from planned margin and supports corrective action plans and recovery efforts;
- Confirms procedural adherence with Project Development & Execution policies, procedures, and the use of appropriate project tools;
- Attends Escalated Project Reviews (EPRs) as required, to represent and discuss projects within their portfolio meeting the identified trigger thresholds;
- Monitors accounts receivable (AR), accounts payable (AP) and unbilled revenue (UB/WIP) and works with PMs, finance and respective clients to address issues as needed to drive improved cashflow and reduced DSO;
- Represents TruGrid and functions as the client go-to/contact for relationship management, contractual and commercial issues, change management, cashflow, etc. in delivery, and directs the PM accordingly while allowing the PM to focus on the project execution. Conducts Client Satisfaction Surveys (CSS) as prescribed;
- Serves as coach and mentor to PMs to assist in career development and progression.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Normally requires a BS degree in appropriate discipline and 15 years+ of project manager or project related experience.
- Certification as a licensed professional is preferred.
- Has demonstrated strong project management skills at the PM3 level with engineering,procurement and construction scope.
- Must complete internal Project Management Essentials (PME) Training.
- Thorough understanding of the principles and application of the Front-End-Loading (FEL) process.
EXPERIENCE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
- Successfully lead at least 5 EPC projects.
- Developed and managed continuous improvement protocols, tools and systems.
- Develoed and managed a team of PMs and Project Delivery support functions.
- Strong understanding of all Corporate procedures, tools protocols and systems.
