The Role
The Director, Regional Deployment will be responsible for coordinating solution delivery of the Custom Networks infrastructure within the regional delivery teams. As a critical member of the Lumen custom network regional leadership team, this role drives a cohesive solution experience and partners with implementation peers to ensure a seamless deployment. The successful candidate will have a positive, collaborative attitude to work across internal organizations in the establishment and execution of deployment plans.
The Main Responsibilities
• Align and own end-to-end solution delivery and cross functional scopes within the delivery region to ensure best practices for the regional team align to national standards and ways of working.
• Collaborate with cross-functional and national teams to ensure consistent deployment methodologies across regions.
• Drive efficiency and effectiveness in deployment execution.
• Responsible for alignment of deployment of all Network assets within running line sites (ILA/Shelters), and building points of presence. Oversees the deployment of shelters and shelter components, overpull of cable in existing conduit routes, and new route builds.
• Provide functional leadership to regional deployment teams.
• Foster collaboration, knowledge sharing, and alignment with organizational goals.
• Monitor deployment progress, address bottlenecks, and ensure timely project delivery.
• Oversee site acquisition, permitting, and construction activities.
• Collaborate with real estate, legal, and engineering teams to secure sites and build infrastructure.
• Ensure compliance with local regulations and industry standards.
• Establish quality control processes for deployment activities.
• Conduct regular audits to verify adherence to standards.
• Drive continuous improvement in deployment quality.
• Support Custom Networks region achieving results through meeting or exceeding all service delivery levels including on-time performance for service installation and repair work, installation quality to include meeting Company accepted and industry standards and initial installation fault rates.
• Prioritize safety protocols during deployment, including site inspections and risk assessments.
• Collaborate with safety officers and contractors to maintain a safe work environment.
• Ensure compliance with information security policies and protect sensitive data during deployment.
What We Look For in a Candidate
• 10+ years of relevant experience with 3+ years of leadership experience
• 3+ years of process improvement and/or project management experience
• Experience with direct management of regional deployments specifically for Managed Optical Networks and fiber deployment for large customers
• Working knowledge of regulatory rules on a regional and state level
• Results orientation with a demonstrated track record of success
• Strong business acumen and strategic thinking skills
• Strong communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills with the ability to articulate information clearly, in a well-organized format, and demonstrates an understanding of operational needs
• Ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of the organization.
• Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, and changing environment, with agility, resilience, and a customer-centric mindset.

The starting salary for this role differs based on the employee's primary work location. Employees typically do not start at the top of the range, though compensation depends on each individual's qualifications.

$135,060 - $180,080 in these states: AL AZ FL GA IA IN KS MO MT ND NM OH OK PA TN UT VT WI WV WY
$141,820 - $189,090 in these states: CO HI MI MN NC NH NV OR RI
$148,570 - $198,090 in these states: AK CA CT DC DE IL MA MD NJ NY TX VA WA

This position is eligible for either short-term incentives or sales compensation. Director and VP positions also are eligible for long-term incentive.
