REQUIREMENTS:

1. CPR Certification (Required)
2. Licensed Physical Therapy Therapist, Occupational Therapist and Speech Language Pathologist (Required)
3. 3-4 years experience in long term care preferred and Rehab Director experience
4. Good physical and mental health.
5. Must be able to perform any physical requirement of the position which includes lifting dead weight or unassisted weight of 40 pounds.
6. Is capable of following oral and written instructions.
7. Have training, knowledge and experience which allows for general supervision of responsibilities.

REPORTING: TheRehabilitation Director Report to the Administrator

JOB DUTIES:

• Responsible for direction of Rehabilitation Services Staff and Rehab Department.  
• Oversee scheduling of patients. Ensures that patients are appropriately evaluated and treated. Reviews Medical Records and patients charts.
• Develop and implements system of reviewing department charges ensures that patient charges are accurate and entered on a timely basis.
• Develop and implement system of reviewing Rehab Staffs time log and ensures that Rehab staff are logging in their daily time in the labor log.
• Basic knowledge of physical medicine, anatomy and physiology.
• Provides Assessment, treatment and rehabilitative services to patients who have experienced injury or disability disease. Provides residents with exercises.
•  Adheres to standards of physical medicine practice.
• Ability to observe and evaluate treatment effect and recommends change to physician.
• Ability to perform an appropriate assessment on all patients as related to the therapy requested and provides reassessment as per policy.
• Treats patient and their families with respect and dignity.
• Knowledge of infection prevention and control, sterile technique and related impact on rehabilitation services.
• Attend to mandatory in services of the facility and ensure that all Rehab staff are following Facility policy and guidelines.
• Maintain a good working relationship both within the department and with other department.
• Communicate appropriately and clearly to physicians, staff and administrative team
• Performs management duties including, interviewing, hiring, evaluating, termination and departmental staffing and scheduling.
• Responsible for the monitoring the Rehab staff documentation of resident treatment and response.
• Assists with formulation of a teaching plan based upon identified learning needs and assesses effectiveness of learning, family is included in teaching as appropriate, staff and Physician is apprised of conclusions
• Meets current documentation standards and policies
• Adheres to facility’s Policy and Procedure
