Resident Hall Director - CUAA
Concordia University is now seeking applicants for the position of full-time Resident Hall Director in the Department of Residence Life at the CUAA Ann Arbor, MI campus. This position focusses on leadership of resident student life, reporting to the Dean of Students (CUAA) and working closely in collaboration with other departments such as Campus Ministry, Athletics, and Academic Offices on campus. It is imperative that the Resident Hall Director be able to integrate their faith and understanding of human development in their care and leading students on campus.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Meets with students regarding questions, comments, concerns
- Runs StarRez (applications, meal plans, Banner, etc.) - Schedules Move-Ins etc.
- Works closely with Campus Safety and Maintenance on Building Operations (day to day issues, planning)
- Collaborates with A.R.C. to support students with ADA housing accommodations
- Res Life Budget management
- Supervises Res Life Office Student Workers
- On-Call Rotation
- Assist with student spiritual and satisfaction surveys
- SGA Involvement, Title IX, Conduct
- Additional duties as assigned, such as to assist with other RD responsibilities (like RA development, etc.)
The most significant duties have been included in this description. This does not preclude the assignment of occasional additional or developmental duties.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Demonstrates effective leadership, organizational skills, and is a self-starter
- Exhibits a willingness and ability to work with diverse individuals and organizations
- Familiar with the university campus life
- Able to deal with interruptions and work in a fast-paced environment
- Able to present a Christian and professional manner
- Able to converse with faculty and staff about student issues
- Able to travel occasionally on behalf of the University
- Able to live in provided on-campus housing (required)
- Available evenings and weekends
- Supportive of the mission and values of Concordia University Wisconsin/Ann Arbor and the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod
Education & Experience
- Specific experience, skill set and/or training with campus residential life, commuter student life, and leading residential staffing
- Experience with forming relationships with students
- Experience in educational and/or social programming and working with college students
- Proven track record of caring for students
- A Bachelor's Degree in a related field is required; Master's Degree preferred.
- Minimum one year of experience with residence life
Compensation & Benefits
