Director of SafeHaven Farmhouse
Children and Adolescent Services
Kids in Crisis is Connecticut's ONLY free, round-the-clock agency providing emergency shelter, crisis counseling and community educational programs for children of all ages and families dealing with a wide range of crises, including domestic violence, mental health and family problems, substance abuse, economic difficulties and more.
REPORTS TO: Managing Director of Clinical and Program Services
Responsibilities:
Programs Management
1:1 Ensure that the services provided, and the program design address the needs of the children and youth served.
1:2 Make recommendations to the Managing Director of Clinical and Program Services for changes in programs or services when necessary.
1:3 Ensure that all programs are adequately staffed with individuals appropriate for the positions.
1:4 Oversee the licensing process for the program.
1:5 Ensure on an ongoing basis that the program meets or exceeds regulatory requirements.
1:6 Ensure that the program complies with agency policies and procedures.
1:7 Submit recommendations for program expenses annually to Executive Director and Finance Director for inclusion in agency budget.
1:8 Ensure program spending is within budget.
1:9 Participate in recruitment, hiring and onboarding of new staff.
Program Development and Evaluation
2:1 Work with Quality Assurance to design and implement an outcome-based measurement system for the program.
2:2 Review and analyze outcome-based measurement data and make recommendations for program and service design and/or implementation when appropriate.
2:3 Oversee client data collection system
2:4 Review and analyze client data and make program and/or service recommendations when appropriate.
2:5 Review policy and procedure manuals annually and make recommendations for revisions when necessary.
Internal and External Collaboration and Coordination
3:1 Assist in the coordination of all agency programs and services.
3:2 Develop and implement mechanism to ensure coordination of services within the community for the residents.
3:3 Represent the agency in the community.
3:4 Seek out and develop appropriate formal and informal collaborations within the community.
Staff Supervision and Training
4:1 Meet regularly with all program staff to review programs, services, clients and staffing.
4:2 Conduct formal performance reviews for all program staff on an annual basis.
4:3 Meet regularly with Managing Director of Clinical and Program Services to review employee concerns, staffing/scheduling needs, training schedule and offerings, etc.
4:4 Make recommendations to the Managing Director of Clinical and Program Services on positions needed, changes in position descriptions, program structure, salary recommendations, etc.
Other
5:1 Participate in monthly Department Team meetings.
5:2 Represent the agency at community functions and agency events.
5:3 Participate in agency committees when necessary and appropriate.
5:4 Provide insight into the Strategic Planning for the agency
5:5 Other duties deemed necessary and appropriate by the Executive Director.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Master's Degree in Social Work or related field.
- Must have 5 years clinical experience working with children and youth, management, supervisory and program development experience.
