Department: Sales and Marketing
Reports to: General Manager and Area Director of Sales
Position Summary: Focuses on revenue producing activity and maximizes selling time with a minimum of 65% of work time dedicated to direct sales efforts and 35% to leading and managing the sales team; developing promotions and presentations; completing a variety of reports; maintaining administrative account management ; establishing rates and maximizing room revenue opportunities; and attending sales and management meetings. This position is responsible for the development and execution of sales and marketing efforts and must possess the passion to identify, qualify, and actively pursue new revenue opportunities. Creates and implements marketing plans to support the overall sales strategies. Responsible for directing, motivating, training, supervising and coaching the sales team in all sales related activities. The successful candidate must have a proven track record of leading and motivating their Sales Team to meet or exceed their Sales Goals.
Essential Functions
- Directs activities of the hotel sales team, providing leadership and motivation necessary to implement effective sales and marketing strategies to achieve room revenue goals
- Conducts direct sales solicitations through phone calls, email communication, appointments, site tours and lunches
- Develops and maintains exceptional relationships with top accounts to create trust, loyalty and lasting business relationships
- Negotiates local corporate and group rates and all aspects of the sales contract
- Understands and follows appropriate protocol in negotiations for National Accounts
- Follows up on all leads in a timely manner or delegates accordingly
- Develops and facilitates sales and marketing presentations for prospective clients
- Maximizes revenue and profits to improve the hotel’s performance
- Establishes priorities for effective time management to focus on revenue generating activities
- Understands and executes the sales call process
- Monitors production of all top accounts and evaluates trends within the market
- Utilizes Hotelligence reports as a tool to effectively shift market share
- Multitasks with sales functions, deadlines, and responsibilities
- Travels as necessary to meet potential clients, conduct sales presentations, and promote hotels at trade shows and conventions, and attend corporate sales meetings
- Submits annual RFPs for all national accounts in the marketplace
- Establishes all rates for the hotel
- Maintains account management
- Plans and implements Sales Blitzes and FAM Trips to target new business and create product awareness
- Develops promotions for the hotel to increase revenue opportunities
- Establishes competitive set and ensures that the hotel is consistently achieving and or exceeding its fair share based on the STAR report
- Interacts with all departments in a positive and professional manner
- Manages sales budgets and understand forecasts and P&L statements
- Produces and submits weekly sales recap
- Participates in sales meetings as needed
- Participates with sister properties in weekly DOS sales conference call
- Attends weekly HOD meetings as a departmental manager
- Assists in special projects as requested by the General Manager

Experience
- 5 years hotel sales experience in a supervisory position
Physical Demands
- Maximum lifting 30 lbs.
- Pushing, pulling, bending, stooping, upward reaching
