Job Description
Are you a results-driven leader with a passion for sales and marketing in the luxury hotel sector? Omni Tempe Hotel at ASU is seeking a Director of Sales and Marketing to join our Executive Committee. This role is crucial in shaping the strategic direction of the hotel’s sales, marketing, and convention services, with a strong emphasis on cultivating relationships with the Tempe community and Arizona State University.
As the Director of Sales and Marketing, you will lead a dynamic team across group, business transient, catering, and convention services. You’ll be responsible for developing strategic plans that maximize overall revenue through proactive sales efforts, effective marketing strategies, and a focus on brand elevation. This role requires a blend of strong leadership, creativity, and analytical skills to drive measurable success in revenue generation, market share growth, and brand recognition.
Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership:
- Develop and implement comprehensive sales and marketing strategies to achieve revenue goals and optimize profitability.
- Lead, mentor, and motivate the sales and convention services teams, fostering a collaborative and goal-oriented environment.
- Actively cultivate relationships with local organizations, industry associations, and ASU to promote hotel visibility and drive market share.
- Manage key accounts directly, ensuring top-level customer satisfaction and retention.
Revenue Management:
- Design innovative packages and promotions to target need periods, maximizing RevPAR and driving consistent growth.
- Work closely with revenue management and F&B teams to identify opportunities and enhance sales across all departments.
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance to maintain an optimal profit margin while exceeding revenue and RevPAR goals.
Marketing Excellence:
- Lead all digital and traditional marketing efforts, including website management, social media strategy, PR initiatives, and advertising campaigns.
- Ensure consistent brand messaging across all platforms and marketing collateral, maintaining a strong online presence and positive customer perception.
- Track and analyze marketing metrics, reporting results to the executive team to refine strategies and maintain a competitive edge.
Community Engagement:
- Serve as a visible figurehead in the local community, participating in city activities, networking events, and hospitality associations.
- Promote the hotel’s involvement in events and initiatives that align with the brand’s values and enhance the property's reputation.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of senior sales and marketing leadership experience in upscale/luxury hotels.
- Proven ability to develop and execute successful sales strategies that increase market share and revenue.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships both internally and externally.
- Proficiency in Excel, Word, and sales management systems; experience with Delphi.FDC is strongly preferred.
- A bachelor’s degree in hospitality, business, or a related field is preferred, or equivalent industry experience.
