Position Summary
Reporting to the Executive Director of Global Programming, the Director of Semester & Exchange Programs leads a team of three professional staff dedicated to all aspects of semester and summer study abroad programming, consisting of 115+ programs, serving approximately 700 students annually. This position support and advances the GEC's Mission and Vision and the overall mission and goals of the University as articulated through Boldly Elon. Goals include promoting inclusive excellence, deepening the University's #1-ranked study abroad program, making programming accessible to all students, and increasing students' acquisition of second languages.

Minimum Required Education and Experience
Master's degree in any relevant field of study with more than 8 years of experience with the following relevant work experience: Related work in higher education at a college/university or study abroad organization.

Job Duties
- Direct Semester & Exchange team, a team of four professional staff (including this position) responsible for operational management of 115+ programs serving approximately 700 students annually, including oversight of outreach, curriculum integration, new program operationalization, application processes, communications, workload distribution, personnel management, and emergency management.
- Working with the Executive Director and Dean, contribute to the development and implementation of a strategy for semester and exchange programs, which includes collaborating with academic departments and campus partners on student advising, global programs, inclusive excellence, curriculum integration, and on-campus programming to advance global at Elon.
- Serve as the operational director of the flagship Elon Center study abroad programs including all matters related to day-to-day oversight including faculty and student preparation, academic and student life matters, crisis management, and other operational matters.
- Manage a portfolio of programs including but not limited to global affiliate programs and exchange programs. Duties include application management in TerraDotta keeping program pages/materials updated throughout the year, application management and review, enrollment management, and staying informed of developments on programs and in countries where Elon operates.
- Advise and support students considering or participating in study abroad programs prior to departure, while abroad, and after return, on matters including program selection, academic fit, health and safety, and incident management while abroad.
