Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Promotes the Company's mission and values-based culture through all forms of communication and interaction with internal and external stakeholders.

Manage, directly and indirectly, and mentor PlayCore’s transportation professionals at PlayCore businesses located across North America. 

Interact with site level peers from Manufacturing, Purchasing, Legal, and Finance in the development of PlayCore’s transportation strategies and best practices which support the changing needs of the individual businesses.

Develop and facilitate a regular metrics reporting structure and cadence with meaningful and measurable actions to drive improvements to cost and the overall customer experience. 

Own and manage all decisions regarding current and potential third-party vendors of transportation software, TMS and other transportation services.

Optimize international inbound freight solutions and pursue common approaches to international freight for applicable businesses.

Evaluate acquisition opportunities for cost savings and network optimization. 

Key contributor to annual business planning, expense, and budgeting processes. Monitor progress monthly and revise accordingly to support corporate financial and customer service requirements and guidelines.

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Logistics, Transportation or related field. 

5+ years of experience in a Transportation / Freight management capacity.

Previous management experience.

Travel 30% - typically restricted to North America. Travel may be heavy during onboarding period.
