Job Description
TeamBuilders has a unique career opportunity for an experienced Director of Travel & Events to join a local travel agency in Fresno, CA.
The Director of Travel & Events will possess a strong background in the Travel, Events & Hospitality industry developing large scale events and travel coordination for both leisure and corporate travelers. This role will collaborate closely with event & travel partners such as tour operators and related suppliers within the industry to successfully coordinate heavily detailed itineraries and event elements & schematics.
The ideal candidate for the Director of Travel & Events will come with at least 5+ years’ experience within a leadership role managing international & domestic travel planning as well as event development & management within the hospitality/travel industry. This opportunity will be an excellent match for someone who is passionate about creating memorable and meaningful events and travel experiences.
The Director of Travel & Events position is being offered on an Direct Hire, Full-Time basis onsite Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM. Additional hours and international as well as domestic travel will be required. A valid US Passport will be required prior to international travel.

The Director of Travel & Events Daily Responsibilities to Include:
- Leading, mentoring and managing the events team ensuring professional growth and high-quality results
- Establish and maintain departmental operational procedures to streamline processes and improve upon efficiency
- Manage the planning, development and lead multiple large-scale destination events
- Develop detailed event plans including timelines, programming, event schedules, budgets and itineraries
- Coordination with suppliers and travel partners ensuring all necessary resources and inventory items are available and secured within timeline
- Collaboration with multiple internal departments to ensure efficiency of all related event and travel details
- Provide detailed and time sensitive communications to travelers and partners
- Additional related duties as required
Qualifications
The Required Skills, Experience and Qualifications of the Director of Travel & Events:
- Must possess 5+ years’ experience in event and travel planning within the travel/hospitality industry
- Advanced software skills in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook & PowerPoint)
- Travel Software such as Sabre, Apollo or Galileo in addition to Event Management Software such as ClearEvent, Cvent, etc.
- Effective leadership skills and experience
- Impeccable detail orientation, prioritization, organizational, time management and planning skills required
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously within a fast-paced environment with a superior level of accuracy & efficiency
- Professional communication skills (Verbal, Written & Interpersonal)
- Dedication to delivering high-quality results and exceeding traveler’s and event attendee’s expectations
- Ability to travel internationally & domestically and must have a valid US Passport prior to traveling internationally
