Clarke University seeks an energetic and experienced leader to serve as the Director of Undergraduate Admissions. The director will serve as a key member of the enrollment management team and will be responsible for developing a high performing team of admission professionals. The director will work collaboratively with all areas of the university to build and implement recruitment strategies that will successfully enroll, retain, and graduate students.
Primary responsibilities include:
- Provides leadership in recruiting, training, evaluating, mentoring, and retaining a high performing team of admission counselors and other vital enrollment staff within the Office of Admissions.
- Manages the day-to-day operations of the undergraduate admission counseling team to develop and influence outcomes-focused recruitment strategies and market research that aligns with Clarke's strategic planning objectives, mission, and core values.
- Oversees targeted recruitment strategies through identifying and developing relationships with qualified prospective students, their families, educational counselors, teachers, principals, and alumni, resulting in increased numbers of qualified students enrolling at Clarke University.
- Develops and maintains strong relationships and open communication with faculty, staff, students, and administrators to best serve students and meet the needs of the university.
- Coordinates recruitment areas by establishing territories and coordinate training of counselor staff to advise high school guidance counselors, community college advisors, and administrators, and relevant stakeholders about the benefits of a Clarke education to ensure recruitment goals are met.
- Leads the planning, managing, and the execution of admission-related travel programs for the designated territories, including phone, postal, and e-communication strategies, visits to high schools and colleges, college fairs, information sessions, and alumni/parent activities through collaboration with the Office of Alumni Relations, Academics, Athletics, Marketing and Communication, and other offices and departments.
- Collaborates with the vice president for enrollment management, director of financial aid, and other university leaders to set tuition rates, financial aid award strategies, scholarship amounts, and admission requirements.
Qualifications
A bachelor's degree in a related field and five or more years of successful admissions experience is required. Current knowledge of recruiting best practices and a history of successfully recruiting, retaining, and graduating students are essential. Supervisory experience and a master's degree are preferred. Some weekend and evening work should be expected.
