We are seeking a Director of Wellness with supervisory experience in geriatric services to direct, manage and support our Wellness Department. This is a unique, exciting and rewarding opportunity, helping to maintain a Health Services Department of excellence within our beautiful and luxurious community.

The successful RN in this role must possess an abiding respect for and knowledge of the elderly and have an extraordinary ability to multitask under pressure. With an emphasis on geriatric care management, the Director of Wellness is an essential position, reporting to the Executive Director.
You must be a nurse with proven capabilities in managing a team, scheduling employees, maintaining charts, overseeing medication administration and creating team member assignments. You must have a proven track record for inspiring and leading a unified, cohesive team in excelling for the good of the community. You will also support our Memory Care Department, which serves residents with Alzheimer's and other forms of dementia, and also falls within the purview of the Wellness Department under the administration of the DON and with the support of the Director of Memory Care, Wellness Secretary and Director of Case Management.
Additional responsibilities include:
• Managing daily day operations for the Resident Health Services Department 24/7/365
• Demonstrating skilled and confident leadership in hiring, training and scheduling team members
• Developing and coordinating service plans
• Conducting resident assessments, both on and off site, in conjunction with the Case Manager
• Communicating with physicians, residents and families
• Ensuring regulatory compliance in accordance with the New York State Department of Health
Full-time schedule requires working one weekend day per week (Tues-Sat or Sun-Thurs).
Qualifications:
- Must have an active New York State RN License
- Knowledge of New York State Department of Health regulations for Adult Home or Enriched Housing is a huge plus
- Four-plus (4+) years gerontological nursing and administration experience required
- Case Management experience a plus
- Excellent people skills and the ability to communicate effectively across diverse audiences
- Successful management or supervisory methodology with experience managing a department as well as interviewing, hiring, scheduling and training team members
- Proficient computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Be a person of the utmost integrity, with an absolute commitment to resident care
- Hold experience in assisted living, home health or a skilled nursing setting
- Having a sense of humor, confidence and composure-under-pressure are key qualities that we look for!
