Job Summary:
As a Director of Wholesale, you will play a pivotal role in driving the growth and success of our wholesale business. In this position you will oversee 3 brands in different pricing categories. Alexandre Birman within Luxury, Schutz within Contemporary, and Arezzo within the Moderate category. This position requires a strategic thinker with a talent for building and nurturing robust relationships with retail partners. You will be instrumental in enhancing sales performance and expanding our market presence across the wholesale channel.
Key Responsibilities:
- Formulate and implement comprehensive strategic plans to expand our wholesale operations and achieve ambitious sales targets.
- Identify and prospect potential wholesale accounts through meticulous market research and analysis, uncovering opportunities for growth and expansion.
- Cultivate and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with existing and prospective retail partners, serving as their primary point of contact for all wholesale inquiries.
- Negotiate and finalize sales agreements, contracts, and terms with retail partners, ensuring mutually beneficial arrangements that foster long-term partnerships.
- Partner with cross-functional teams—including sales, marketing, and operations—to align wholesale initiatives with the organization’s overarching business objectives.
- Continuously monitor and analyze sales performance, market trends, and competitive activities to identify areas for growth and enhancement.
- Conduct regular business reviews with retail partners, analyzing sales data to identify improvement areas and proposing actionable strategies to drive increased sales.
- Develop and execute effective sales and marketing strategies tailored for wholesale accounts, encompassing promotional campaigns, product launches, and sales incentives.
- Present weekly, accurate sales forecasts and comprehensive reports to senior executives, highlighting key trends, challenges, and opportunities within the wholesale channel.
- Stay informed about industry regulations, market dynamics, and best practices in wholesale management to maintain a competitive edge.
- Mentor and support team members, offering guidance, training, and resources to foster their professional growth and development.
Qualifications:
- Deep understanding of wholesale management, sales strategies, and retail operations.
- Exceptional sales and negotiation skills, with a demonstrated history of achieving and surpassing sales targets.
- Strong relationship-building and interpersonal skills, with the ability to forge and sustain strong partnerships with retail partners.
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities, effectively conveying brand messaging and value propositions.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with a knack for interpreting market data and making informed, data-driven decisions.
- Proven experience as a Wholesale Manager or in a comparable role within the fashion retail industry.
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, Marketing, or a related field; a master's degree is preferred.
- Proficiency in sales management software and CRM tools.
- Willingness to travel for client meetings, trade shows, and industry events.
- A passion for fashion and a keen understanding of industry trends and consumer preferences.
- Outstanding organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- A strong background in the footwear industry is required.
- Experience with both luxury and contemporary price categories is advantageous.
