Virtus Healthcare Staffing is seeking a dedicated Director of Women's Services to join our partner hospital in Mayfield, KY. This role calls for a passionate and experienced nursing leader to oversee and elevate the quality of care for women and newborns in our community.
Position Overview:
As the Director of Women's Services, you will provide strategic and operational leadership for all aspects of women's health services, including labor and delivery, postpartum care, and neonatal care. Your dedication to clinical excellence and patient-centered care will drive positive outcomes and foster a collaborative environment within the department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership and Management: Lead and manage the daily operations of the Women's Services department, ensuring efficient workflows, optimal resource allocation, and adherence to the highest standards of patient care and safety. Oversee and mentor clinical and administrative staff, creating a positive and empowering work environment.
- Strategic Planning and Development: Develop, implement, and evaluate departmental policies, procedures, and goals, ensuring alignment with best practices and the organization's objectives. Contribute to the development and implementation of new programs and services to enhance patient care.
- Quality and Compliance: Champion a culture of continuous quality improvement and uphold the highest standards of patient safety. Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and maintain accreditation standards for all women's health services.
- Financial Management: Collaborate with hospital leadership to develop and manage the department's budget, ensuring responsible resource allocation and financial sustainability.
- Collaboration and Communication: Foster strong relationships with physicians, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals, promoting seamless communication and coordinated care for patients.
- Staff Development: Provide mentorship, guidance, and educational opportunities for staff, ensuring ongoing professional development and certification compliance.
Qualifications:
Must-Haves:
- Active and unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Kentucky.
- AWHONN Certification Required.
- Minimum of an Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited nursing program.
Experience:
- At least 5 years of clinical experience in women's health, labor and delivery, or a related area.
- 2-3 years of leadership experience in a hospital or healthcare setting, demonstrating strong team management and department oversight capabilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Nursing or Healthcare Administration.
- Previous experience as a Director or Manager of Women's Services.
- Advanced certifications in women's health, such as C-EFM or NCC credentials.
