The Communications department is responsible for strategic deployment of Press & Influencer Relations, Special Events and Advertising across all media channels to support the growth of awareness for Hermès in the US. The Opportunity:
As the Director of Press & Influence, you will be responsible for managing the dynamic earned media activations for Hermès métiers including all Women's' Collections, Beauty & Influencer Engagement . You will support the VP in executing earned media brand features and qualitative product editorial placement across all national and regional media channels (print, digital, social & broadcast) as well as manage active media lists and contacts with all relevant editors and reports. You will also proactively pursue press opportunities and manage reactive press requests in A-List target media as well as coordinate and oversee public relations activities that facilitate communication of the company's key messages and initiatives both internally and externally.
About the Role:
- Develop and execute a strong, dynamic, and strategic product editorial placement, in-depth feature story and event coverage in top tier national and regional publications and newspapers and key digital media outlets in support of increased brand visibility and awareness with regard to Beauty, Jewelry and watches
- Generate innovative and creative earned media exposure through VIP and Influencer at large relationships
- Manage and secure all national and regional press coverage for product launches, key initiatives, artistic director profiles, brand feature and events by implementing, monitoring, and updating press strategy as well as attending local and national events
- Maintain daily contact with VIP, Influencers at large and beauty & Jewelry / watch editors
- Partner with VP on influence outreach and relationship development; securing influencer attendance at events and achieving organic social media engagement
- Work directly with US boutique directors and merchants to identify key seasonal product to push via curated editorial strategy across a layered VIP approach
- Attend bi-annual global meetings in Paris
- Attend and oversee seating for US media at bi-annual fashion shows
- Manage internal yearly budget in collaboration with Finance team
- Serve as liaison with external agencies ensuring project goals are met
- Manager and oversee day-to-day activities performed by PR Specialist and interns

- YES - manage yearly PR budget
Decision Making Responsibility:
- YES - Manage relationships with market editors, design editors and feature writers. Develop relationships with digital media players
About You:
- 6 plus years of experience, in similar role and/or department
- Solid understanding of budgeting and ability to exercise appropriate judgement
- High level of attention to detail
- Proven excellence at meeting long and short-term deadlines
- Solid knowledge of Microsoft Office & PowerPoint
- Exceptional written, verbal and presentation skills
- Knowledge of Women's Fashion PR preferred
The range for this position is $106,374.00 -$177,290.00. Actual rates are determined based on the job, location, and individual experience.
