TSG at Moss Adams is comprised of tax professionals who go beyond compliance–providing deep technical and strategic guidance to clients so they're better equipped to tackle their most vexing challenges and embrace emerging opportunity
The Texas oil and gas property tax team member will join our greater property tax service team
Our property tax team provides both consulting and compliance services for the energy industry that helps drive value and significant tax savings to our clients
This individual will be looked to as a key leader in our real property tax practice and help lead the overall property tax team.Individuals who thrive at Moss Adams exhibit the following success skills – Collaboration, Critical Thinking, Emotional Intelligence, Executive Presence, Growth Mindset, Intellectual Curiosity, and Results Focus.Responsibilities:Assist in the leadership of the real property tax team to deliver property tax consulting services Review and evaluate assigned value, communicate with assigned clients, and manage the administrative appeal and compliance process on behalf of clientsLead various tax consulting projects involving research and writing related to tax planning, taxability, assessment appeals, audit representation and resolution, tax exemptions and abatements, credits and incentives, etc.Analyze taxpayer data and be able to identify opportunities for prospects and clientsKeep up to date on state and local tax law changesOversee a dynamic team’s performance and adherence to Firm policesLead business development activitiesDevelop internal relationships within the firm and help grow external brandingQualifications:Bachelor's degree required; emphasis in accounting, finance or real estate preferredCPA, JD, or CMI certification preferredMinimum of 10 years of related tax experience required; complex, commercial and hospitality experience required California, Texas, and Washington experience preferred Excellent verbal and written communication skillsCreative problem solving and research skillsAble to work effectively both as part of a team and independently Able to handle multiple priorities, tasks and simultaneous projectsAble to provide prompt and reliable client serviceProficient with Microsoft Office Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)with intermediate knowledge of ExcelAbility to travel as needed, approximately 30%Moss Adams is an Equal Opportunity Employer
