Purpose:
As the Quality Assurance Director for our satellite communications manufacturing operations, you will oversee all aspects of quality assurance to ensure our products meet rigorous standards and customer expectations. This role demands a strategic leader with a deep understanding of satellite communications technology, manufacturing processes, and quality management systems. Your leadership will ensure our products are of the highest quality, enhancing customer satisfaction and driving our reputation as industry leaders.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive a quality assurance strategy and standards aligned with industry standards and best practices.
- Lead the functional QA teams at all manufacturing sites for satellite and space segment to drive alignment and execution to company standards, setting objectives, and ensuring continuous improvement in our quality processes and systems.
- Collaborate with R&D, engineering, and manufacturing teams to integrate quality control measures throughout the product development and manufacturing lifecycle.
- Establish quality metrics and benchmarks, conducting regular audits and assessments to maintain and improve product quality.
- Ensure compliance with relevant international quality standards (e.g., ISO 9001, AS9100, ISO 27001, TL 9000) and regulatory requirements.
- Manage supplier quality, ensuring all materials and components meet our high standards.
- Oversee the resolution of quality issues, implementing corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
- Drive quality awareness and practices across the organization, fostering a culture of excellence.
- Other duties as assigned
Skills:
- Certifications in Quality Management Systems (e.g., Lead Auditor, Six Sigma Black Belt).
- Experience with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field.
- Over 10 years of experience in quality assurance, with significant experience in the satellite communications and/or aerospace industry.
- At least 5 years of experience leading a quality assurance team.
- Strong leadership skills with a proven track record of leading quality assurance in a manufacturing environment.
- In-depth knowledge of quality standards and regulatory requirements specific to satellite communications manufacturing.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, capable of inspiring a team and collaborating across departments.
- Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S.citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
