The Director, Relationship Management will lead a team of relationship managers (RMs) that act as the primary strategic point of contact for an assigned book of business. He/she is responsible for ensuring that RMs are accountable for ownership of the assigned client relationships including strategy, overall service delivery, improving and managing client satisfaction and risk/retention, and client profit and loss management. This leader must ensure plan sponsor satisfaction and that the team delivers exceptional client service. Travel of up to 75% of time.
Please note: This position is not limited to Washington, DC. (East coast with ideal locations being Florida, DMV or New England)
Essential Functions for this role include:
- Manage, train and develop the RMs
- In partnership with Client Experience and Technology teams refine the client experience to include guidelines, creating consistency among the team and leading efforts to establish and maintain a training curriculum
- Partner with internal shared services team to effectively support the client to meet all contractual obligations
- Participate in new business finals presentations and client site visits
- Leverage and showcase knowledge of the company’s products and services with the client to enhance service to the plan sponsors
- Facilitate discussions with clients regarding legal, regulatory and design issues across the plans
- Meet retention goals and grow book of business by increasing new enrollments and adopting new governmental subdivisions
- Assist plan sponsors/RM’s with escalations including plan corrections and resolving operational defects. This includes problem resolution on behalf of clients to produce a satisfactory outcome.

- BA/BS or equivalent experience
- Ten or more years of experience
- One to three years of management experience
- 457 governmental plan experience
- Licenses preferred: Series 7, 24 and 63
- Recordkeeping
- Presentation Skills
- Retirement Plans Knowledge – Ideally government
- Leadership Skills
- Communication Skills
- Ability to travel
