Position: Director Respiratory Therapy
Department: Inpatient Respiratory Therapy
Schedule: Full Time
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Director of Respiratory Therapy is responsible for clinical, operational, and administrative leadership of the department to deliver exceptional respiratory care to patients in both the ambulatory and inpatient setting. This includes leading quality initiatives, maintaining clinical education and skills of respiratory therapists, developing and maintaining policies and procedures, and managing staff, budgets, and operational performance.
The Director will work closely with physician, nursing, and administrative leadership to set department goals, develop strategies, and contribute toward the mission and operational performance of the hospital.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION:
Bachelors' degree, preferably in Respiratory Therapy
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED:
Current, unencumbered license from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as a Respiratory Therapist
Registration with the National Board of Respiratory Care
Certificate 1 Basic Life Support (AHA BLS)
EXPERIENCE:
5-8 years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist
3-5 years management experience in a large academic medical center.
Experience or certification in one or more specialty areas in Respiratory Therapy (e.g., critical care, neonatal care, pulmonary function testing)
