Are you experienced in growing a territory by executing a sales strategy and utilizing sales goal tools? Are you looking for an opportunity to utilize your management skills in a sales territory spanning over 6 states representing tens of millions of dollars in sales? Do you come with a strong belief in and passion for the overall value proposition associated with life safety products and the ability to translate that passion into the effective promotions of ASSA ABLOY product solutions? If so, this position that may be perfect for you.The ideal candidate should reside on the East Coast Region of the US (Berlin/New Haven, CT preferred) with the ability to travel throughout the territory and the US
The Sales Director will lead a staff of approximately 25 employees and manage a budget of several million dollars.What you will do as a Director, SalesDeveloping and executing sales strategy for the territory in close cooperation with senior management.Directing others on sales goals and activitiesInteracting with and making sales calls to key decision makers and influencers in the contract hardware arena including distributors, architects, general contractors, construction managers, end users. Senior management review presentations with territory results during monthly review meetingsHolding regular staff meetingsBuilding and maintaining a high-performance team by hiring staff, evaluating and coaching employee performance, supporting appropriate training and development methods, and team buildingSkills and ExperienceA bachelor's degree in business, architecture, construction management or engineering
Master's degree preferredA minimum of 10 years’ experience in the door and hardware business or related industry (i.e
building products, access control) with a minimum of 3 of those calling into the contract distribution channel A minimum of 7 years’ experience in a managerial role with responsibility for directing staff Ability to think strategically Demonstrated record of developing and implementing effective sales strategies Strong relationship building, interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills Ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of managers, employees, customers and influencers at all levels Ability to travel up to 50%The wage range for this role considers a broad scope of factors that are considered when making compensation decisions
Pay within each range is based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, to primary work job-related knowledge, skills, experience, training, licensure and certifications, business requirements, geographic location and other business and organizational needs
