**Job Advertisement / Job Summary:**
The Director, Strategic Planning and Initiatives for the Flowserve Control Division (FCD), reporting to the Vice President of Strategic Business Management, will drive all aspects of strategy development and deployment for the division. This highly visible role is also responsible for collaborating with the division VPGMs to drive early pipeline inorganic activities.
This leadership position requires a visionary thinker who can identify, plan, and oversee key initiatives that drive growth and innovation. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with senior leadership, cross-functional teams, and external partners to drive strategic priorities and ensure alignment with FCD growth objectives.
This role will help in rounding-up key developmental skills, such as developing and owning strategy, build alignment and stakeholder relationship with BU leadership, extended engagement with product management and industrial segment leadership, develop deeper market and competitive intelligence, drive inorganic actions and take ownership for strategic growth initiatives.
**Responsibilities:**
+ Strategy and Annual Plan Development - Develop and refine the division’s 5-year strategic plan, in collaboration with the senior leadership team and the SBM team. Assist the SBM VP in leading the strategic planning process for the division, focused on share gain and the enterprises’ 3D strategy.
+ Business Development - Partner with business VPGMs and the SBM team to develop an active inorganic pipeline, aligned to the division’s strategic plan. Assist in the development of business cases and integration execution plans.
+ Initiative Management - Identify, prioritize, and lead strategic programs, in partnership with the division’s senior leadership team and SBM VP.
+ Program Oversight - Lead cross-functional teams that support the division’s VPGMs in planning, executing and monitoring prioritized initiatives. Ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget. Manage risk by anticipating potential challenges and develop proactive mitigation plans. Build and maintain relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, including senior executives, VPGMs, product management and industry segment leaders, corporate development, etc.
+ Data Analysis - Utilize data-driven insights to inform decision-making, measure progress and adjust strategies and initiatives as needed.
+ Reporting and Communication - Partner with the SBM VP to provide regular updates, consolidated progress reports, and KPIs ensuring progress to the division’s financial and strategic plans.
**Minimum Qualifications / Skills / Experience:**
+ Bachelor's degree in engineering, a technical field, business or management.
+ 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in strategic planning and project management or equivalent experience in a management consulting firm.
+ Willingness to travel up to 50%
+ Strategic Thinking: Proven ability to think strategically, develop a vision, and translate it into actionable plans.
+ Initiative Management: Strong project management skills with a track record of successfully leading and delivering complex initiatives.
+ Analytical Skills: Proficiency in data analysis and the ability to use data to inform decision-making.
+ Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex ideas to various stakeholders including executive leadership.
+ Leadership: Demonstrated leadership skills, including the ability to motivate, influence and inspire cross-functional teams.
+ Collaboration: Strong collaborative and interpersonal skills with a proven ability to work effectively in a team-based environment.

**Preferred Qualifications / Skills / Experience:**
+ Advanced business degree (e.g. MBA)
+ Familiarity with manufacturing industry, product marketing in pumps, valves and seals and market trends relevant to the organization's mission and goals.
+ Experience with customers in the target regions
+ P&L experience
