About the role:
The R&D Enablement team is responsible for helping Samsara Engineering, Product Management, Design, and Strategy organizations move quickly and navigate change as we sustain rapid growth. As Director of R&D Enablement, you will play a critical role in ensuring that we are able to both operate at scale, and maintain the entrepreneurial spirit that is core to the Samsara culture. You will touch all parts of the employee lifecycle, helping us recruit new talent efficiently, maintain a high hiring bar, ramp up new hires quickly, and sustain a culture of continuous learning and innovation. The Enablement organization is central to our ability to achieve our ambitious goals.
This is a remote position open to candidates based in the United States.
In this role, you will:
• Lead the R&D Enablement team, helping the organization hire efficiently, onboard new talent quickly, and facilitate a culture of continuing education
• Develop programs and curriculum focused on software engineer on-boarding
• Establish a culture of continuous learning
• Champion, role model, and embed Samsara’s cultural principles (Focus on Customer Success, Build for the Long Term, Adopt a Growth Mindset, Be Inclusive, Win as a Team) as we scale globally and across new offices
• Hire, develop and lead an inclusive, engaged, and high performing team
Minimum requirements for the role:
• 10+ years of experience managing Enablement, Program Management, or Project Management teams
• A bachelor’s degree at a minimum; a master’s degree is preferred
An ideal candidate also has:
• A proven track record of delivering large initiatives, at scale, at multinational tech companies
• A high bias for action and an eagerness to move quickly to deliver results
• Experience developing onboarding programs for software engineers
• An entrepreneurial spirit that drives them to innovate on behalf of their customers
• High data orientation and a healthy obsession with measuring the impact of their team’s output
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with experience presenting to senior leadership
Samsara’s Compensation Philosophy: Samsara’s compensation program is designed to deliver Total Direct Compensation (based on role, level, and geography) that is at or above market. We do this through our base salary + bonus/variable + restricted stock unit awards (RSUs) for eligible roles. For eligible roles, a new hire RSU award may be awarded at the time of hire, and additional RSU refresh grants may be awarded annually.
We pay for performance, and top performers in eligible roles may receive above-market equity refresh awards which allow employees to achieve higher market positioning.
The range of annual base salary for full-time employees for this position is below. Please note that base pay offered may vary depending on factors including your city of residence, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
$132,440—$236,500 USD
