Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Director of Technical Training to lead the development and execution of training programs for our team members. The ideal candidate will have a robust background in the battery, power, or electric industries, coupled with a proven track record in technical training and people management. This role requires a blend of deep technical expertise and exceptional training skills to ensure our staff is equipped with the necessary knowledge and capabilities to deliver superior services to our clients.
Key Responsibilities:
Training Development and Delivery: Design, develop, and implement comprehensive technical training programs, including technical skills, safety protocols, managerial skills, and soft skills. Deliver training both in-person and virtually to ensure all team members are proficient in their roles.
Team Leadership: Build and manage a training team of 2-4 members. Provide mentorship, guidance, and support to ensure effective training delivery and continuous professional development.
Program Creation: Develop an apprenticeship program to cultivate future talent and expand training capabilities. Collaborate with HR and Learning & Development to integrate this program into the broader organizational strategy.
Technical Expertise: Leverage significant industry experience to provide hands-on technical training in battery systems, high voltage systems, and electrical safety. Stay abreast of industry trends and regulatory changes to ensure training content is current and relevant.
Safety and Compliance: Oversee the development and delivery of OSHA and electrical safety training. Ensure all training programs meet regulatory standards and enhance the safety and compliance of our operations.
Training Evaluation: Implement metrics and evaluation processes to assess the effectiveness of training programs. Use feedback and performance data to continuously improve training offerings and address any gaps.
Collaboration: Work closely with other departments to identify training needs and align programs with organizational goals. Facilitate communication and knowledge sharing across teams to promote a culture of learning and development.
Qualifications:
Experience: 10-15 years of experience in the battery, power, or electric industries with a strong background in technical training and development. Demonstrated experience in designing and delivering technical training programs.
Technical Knowledge: Extensive knowledge of battery systems, high voltage systems, electrical safety, and industry-specific regulations. Familiarity with OSHA standards and compliance requirements is essential.
Training Skills: Proven ability to create and deliver effective training programs. Experience with both in-person and virtual training modalities.
Leadership: Strong people management skills with a track record of building and leading successful teams. Experience in developing and implementing apprenticeship or similar development programs is a plus.
Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. Relevant certifications or additional training in instructional design or training management are desirable.
Travel & Location
- The position is based in Renewance's HQ in Elmhurst, IL and may involve 25%+ travel to customer sites and other Renewance offices.
