Position Summary
Provides leadership, strategic and daily operation direction for activities to support transmission and substation construction, transmission line field operations, transmission civil construction and transmission trucking. Achieves organizational, safety, productivity, construction schedule performance, construction cost performance, and reliability targets by leading employees. Works cross jurisdictionally to establish competitive bidding and execution strategy. Responsible implementing cross regional operational strategies, organizational vision, mission, objectives and behavioral expectations. Provide safe, stimulating and rewarding work environment.
Essential Responsibilities
Leads the regional planning process, sets objectives and courses of action that align with corporate and business unit goals. Anticipates and positions the organization to meet future business needs in a competitive environment. Accountable for attainment of corporate policies and organizational goals and objectives.
Provides strategic leadership and direction for transmission line and substation construction, transmission line maintenance, civil construction, trucking. Supports development of annual transmission maintenance work plans. Develops, approves and manages budget to support work plans and operating budgets which supports operational performance and compliance.
Leads and directs the organization in a commitment to continuous improvement, effectively monitoring and reengineering core processes for the improvement of performance. Applies industry and company best practices, core and behavioral competencies and success factors to establish work performance goals and expectations. Administers the development and use of policies and procedures relating to transmission maintenance and construction practices.
Provides leadership for the continued support of condition assessment and reliability centered maintenance/capital programmatic replacement activities for transmission and distribution substation equipment. Develops, approves and manages maintenance resource budgets. Supports the capital resource budgets allocated to transmission and distribution line and substation construction.
Responsible for effective and efficient use of union and non-union resources with emphasis on safety, reliability, customer satisfaction and compliance. Involved with union negotiations specific to department rules for all areas of responsibility supported by represented employees.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's degree in engineering, or construction management, or journeyman electrician or lineman certification or equivalent technical education.
10 years of experience in heavy construction or the equivalent combination of education and experience in utility transmission and distribution delivery systems and/or construction industry.
5 years in a management position responsible for managing construction and/or transmission line/substation construction or O&M organizations consisting of both represented and non-represented employees.
5 years of experience managing large/cost sensitive projects with a focus on risk management and safety.
Proficient in Microsoft software and related construction database systems.
Ability to Travel 25% of the time.

Non-Bargaining
The anticipated starting base pay for this position is: $139,400.00 to $197,466.66 per year
