About the Job
As the Business Continuity/Disaster Recovery Specialist, you will be responsible for assisting both Information Technology and the Business in developing and maintaining robust business continuity, disaster recovery, and crisis management strategies. This role focuses on assessing and enhancing the BC/DR program, ensuring Fairway’s resilience against disruptions.

Position Details: Permanent, Full-Time
What you will do:
- Business Continuity Planning & Business Impact Analysis
- Collaborate with various business units to develop, implement, and maintain business continuity plans.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation related to business continuity plans, procedures, and recovery processes.
- Provide guidance and coaching to non-technical personnel to ensure they understand and can effectively contribute to business continuity efforts.
- Conduct regular reviews and updates of business continuity plans to reflect changes in the business environment and organizational structure.
- Work with teams and stakeholders to monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of BC/DR efforts, identifying and implementing enhancements to improve overall resilience.
- Coordinate with Cyber Incident Response to address immediate threats and minimize impact to the business.
- Assess and analyze business impact analysis (BIA) scores to identify critical business functions and processes.
- Work with stakeholders to determine recovery priorities and resource requirements.
- Disaster Recovery
- Ensure technical infrastructure can support recovery efforts and minimize downtime in the event of a disaster.
- Coordinate and conduct regular disaster recovery tests and drills to ensure effectiveness and readiness.
- Collaboration and Communication
- Serve as a liaison among non-technical department personnel, business staff, and loan officers to ensure a clear understanding and effective implementation of continuity plans.
- Collaborate with IT, Operations, Corporate Risk, and other departments to ensure an integrated approach to business continuity and technical recovery.
- Communicate effectively with all levels of the organization, including senior management, to promote the importance of business continuity and disaster recovery.
- Align with leadership to manage communication plans, keeping stakeholders informed during a crisis. Coordinate internal and external communication efforts.
- Metric/KPI Reporting
- Build and maintain comprehensive metric/KPI reports to track the effectiveness and readiness of business continuity and disaster recovery plans.
- Utilize tools such as PowerBI to develop and present these reports, ensuring data accuracy and clarity.
- Regularly review and update metrics/KPIs to align with organizational goals and industry standards
- Training and Awareness
- Create and deliver training and awareness programs on business continuity and disaster recovery topics.
- Develop training materials, including presentations, guides, and online resources, to educate staff on their roles and responsibilities in continuity planning.
- Build programs to foster and support a culture of resilience across Fairway.
- Compliance and Certifications
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, best practices, and relevant regulatory requirements in business continuity and disaster recovery.
- Maintain relevant industry certifications (e.g., CBCP, MBCP, DRII) and stay updated on emerging trends and technologies.
What we are looking for:
- 4-6 years of relevant experience
- Experience in business continuity and disaster recovery planning
- Experience building and maintaining comprehensive reports
- Relevant industry certifications (e.g., Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP), Master Business Continuity Professional (MBCP), Disaster Recovery Institute International (DRII) certifications
- Proven ability to coach and train non-technical personnel in business continuity planning
- Strong technical skills related to disaster recovery, including knowledge of backup and recovery solutions, data protection, and IT infrastructure
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proven ability in designing business and technology process mapping
- Solid knowledge and understanding of current business acumen
